TP-Link and New Era University College partner to advance enterprise networking talent

TP-Link Distribution Malaysia Sdn Bhd signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with New Era University College in early September 2026 to enhance enterprise networking skills and workforce readiness for students.

The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and evolving industry requirements by integrating enterprise networking capabilities, professional certification pathways, and practical industry exposure into the student learning experience.

Through the partnership, TP-Link Malaysia will install its Omada enterprise networking solutions directly into the campus learning environment, giving students real-world, hands-on experience with business-grade network systems.

The collaboration will also include technical workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and access to the Omada Certified Network Administrator (OCNA) certification pathway, allowing students to build to build industry-recognized credentials.

TP-Link Malaysia will provide dedicated industrial training and internship opportunities to help students transition smoothly into the technology sector.

TP-Link Malaysia regional director Hugo Cai Zhenbiao said the surge in digital transformation has triggered a direct increase in demand for skilled networking and infrastructure professionals.

“Developing this talent requires closer collaboration between industry and academia to ensure students are equipped with knowledge that is aligned with real-world needs.

“Through our partnership with New Era University College, we aim to contribute our industry expertise and provide students with meaningful exposure to enterprise technologies and practices,” he said.

Meanwhile, New Era University College Dean of Faculty of Computing and Innovative Technology Asst Prof Dr Ang Yang Yi emphasized the vital role of higher education in a tech-driven economy.

“By collaborating with industry partners such as TP-Link Malaysia, we are able to enhance our students’ learning journey by connecting academic knowledge with practical applications and industry perspectives,” he said.

Both organisations will also explore opportunities for further collaboration in research initiatives, technical knowledge exchange and engagement between industry professionals and academic experts, strengthening the connection between real-world industry practice and academic learning.
