Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd (Mydin) has earned a spot in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for creating the country’s first and largest rotating kolam.
The monumental installation measures 20 feet by 20 feet (6.1 meters by 6.1 meters).

The kolam was unveiled on Oct 8, 2026 at Mydin Seremban 2 for the launch of the retailer’s “A Brighter Deepavali” campaign, and formally presented with the record recognition on Nov 5, 2026 at Mydin USJ in Subang Jaya, Selangor.
The rotating kolam is designed in a wheel-like rotating structure and features a vibrant combination of colours, intricate geometric patterns and traditional Indian artistic elements.

Its rotating mechanism offers a contemporary interpretation of the traditional art form, transforming it into a visually captivating centrepiece that showcases the beauty of Indian cultural heritage.
Mydin said the initiative marks a proud milestone in its efforts to celebrate Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage through creativity and innovation while helping preserve traditional Indian art and engaging younger generations.
