The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, officially opened the remodelled Resorts World Awana Golf Course on June 13, 2026.
The massive upgrade marks the course’s most extensive redevelopment and comprehensive transformation across all 18 holes since the course first opened in 1986.

His Royal Highness Sultan Pahang was joined by Pahang Menteri Besar Dato’ Sri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Senior Political Adviser to the Prime Minister, Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, as well as representatives of Genting Malaysia Berhad (GENM) led by Gen (Rtd) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr) Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin and GENM president Lee Thiam Kit.

The newly upgraded course feature fully redesigned greens, fairways, bunker repositioning and enhanced hole layouts, the relocation of one hole.
It also incorporates new Black and Gold tees, upgraded drainage and irrigation systems, enlarged greens and durable Zoysia matrella turf for better playability and year-round quality.

Beyond enhancing the golfing experience, the redevelopment of Resorts World Awana Golf Course highlights a major commitment to environmental stewardship. Approximately two-thirds of the expansive 18-hole site remains protected as lush, natural rainforest, allowing visitors to enjoy highland golfing amidst cool mountain air and lush scenery without sacrificing ecological integrity.
The remodelled Resorts World Awana Golf Course solidifies Resort World Genting’s premier tourism status, offering a modern championship-calibre golfing experience nestled amidst cool mountain breezes and lush, protected rainforests.
