Menara Merdeka 118 celebrates double gold wins at FIABCI World d’Excellence Awards 2026

Malaysia’s iconic skyscraper, Menara Merdeka 118 has clinched two prestigious World Gold awards at the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards 2026.

The 678.9-meter skyscraper, Southeast Asia’s tallest building, won top honors in the Office and Sustainable Development categories during the 76th FIABCI World Real Estate Congress held in Vienna, Austria from June 8-12, 2026.

The recognition follows Menara Merdeka 118’s earlier sweep in the same categories at the FIABCI Malaysia Property Awards 2025.

The double-gold victory highlights the global recognition of Malaysia’s tallest skyscraper for its forward-thinking design, cutting-edge technology, and heritage-led placemaking.

PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Ir Ts Izwan Ibrahim said the double recognition demonstrates Malaysia’s capability to deliver visionary developments that successfully embrace the future while honouring the nation’s rich heritage

Standing at 678.9 metres, Menara Merdeka 118 is the tallest building in Malaysia and Southeast Asia and serves as the centrepiece of a 40-acre integrated precinct in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

As the world’s second tallest building, the development has earned international acclaim for its design, engineering, and sustainability.

The FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards 2026 saw noteworthy developments worldwide competing across 16 categories. Winners were selected based on criteria that includes concept, architecture, sustainability, social impact and heritage value, and not merely size or aesthetics.
