Digital healthcare platform FEV3R and technology firm Neuramatix Sdn Bhd have partnered to honour the humanitarian legacy of the late Datuk Munirah Abdul Hamid by bringing free medical care and food aid to vulnerable communities.
Datuk Munirah was a prominent Malaysian humanitarian and the founder of the PERTIWI Soup Kitchen, and the mother of FEV3R’s co-founder and chief executive officer Adlan Hercus. Her work touched countless lives and helped shine a light on the realities faced by the homeless, disadvantaged and marginalised.
Following her passing three years ago, her son Adlan Hercus is continuing her legacy of helping Malaysians in need.
The teams from FEV3R and Neuramatix joined forces with PERTIWI to host regular community outreach initiatives at the Pusat Khidmat Gelandangan Medan Tuanku in Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur, focusing on providing immediate, multi-layered support to the homeless and urban poor.
Hercus said the initiative is a personal tribute to his mother, whose life was centred on three core values: service, compassion and inclusivity.
“Three years have passed since my mother left us but the values she lived by remain with us. She built a community of advocates who care deeply for those in need, and that work must continue for the betterment and wellbeing of our communities.
“Every effort and every collaboration, whether big or small, can contribute to something greater.
“I am deeply grateful to Neuramatix for coming together with us to make this initiative possible and help carry her legacy forward,” he said.
As part of the joint FEV3R and Neuramatix programme, individuals in need receive free medical consultations, check-ups and medicine to support general healthcare needs and address their health-related concerns.
The services were administered by FEV3R’s network of licensed and registered Malaysian doctors.
Over 800 food packs comprising nasi bungkus, cut fruits and bubur kacang were also distributed to support PERTIWI’s efforts to ensure that underprivileged communities have access to free, nutritious meals.
Founded in 2010 under the Islamic Women’s Action Organisation (PERTIWI), the PERTIWI Soup Kitchen provides regular, free, nutritious meals and basic medical aid to the homeless and urban poor in inner-city areas of Kuala Lumpur like Chow Kit.
