Yeo Bee Yin, who is also Puchong MP, said breastfeeding extends beyond the individual mother; it relies on active backing from families, local communities and healthcare professionals.

“Mothers may face many challenges as they navigate their motherhood journey. Today’s initiative demonstrates the importance of collaborations between the public and private sectors to educate and build a more supportive environment for mothers and babies,” she said.

Elizabeth Richard said that breast milk provides vital nutritional and protective benefits that support an infant’s growth, development and overall well-being.

“However, breastfeeding can come with physical, emotional and practical challenges, and without the right information and support, mothers may find it difficult to continue.

“Consistent education, professional guidance and a supportive environment are therefore essential in helping mothers feel more confident throughout their breastfeeding journey,” she said.
