Heineken House turns music fans into friends through the power of a simple “Hei”

The Heineken House grand finale successfully took place on August 15, 2026, at XOX Arena, The Arch Galeries in Kuala Lumpur.

It brought together music fans from Kuala Lumpur and across the country for a celebration of music, connection and shared experiences, concluding months of regional Heineken House Sessions held across Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Malacca.

Headlined by Swedish DJ and producer Axwell, Baby J and Tye Turner, supported by regional and local acts like Blink, Dirty Signal, Mr. Yang, Viene and AnnJo, the dual-stage festival blended electronic dance music with social-connection activations like Heineken’s global “Fans Have More Friends” platform and local “Just Say Hei” campaign.

At Heineken House, that belief came to life as fans connected over the music and the fandoms they shared, turning a night out into an opportunity to form new friendships and memorable experiences together.

The Hei Zone at the Heineken House event marked the Malaysian debut of The Clinker, Heineken’s latest social innovation designed to connect music fans based on shared tastes.

First introduced at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival earlier this year, The Clinker transforms a simple cheer into an opportunity to connect.

Wrap around a Heineken cup, the smart band syncs with music streaming data to light up when two people clink drinks and share similar musical tastes, helping strangers break the ice and turning offline moments into real-life friendships.

As a physical expression of Heineken’s “Fans Have More Friends” platform, The Clinker demonstrated the power of Just Say Hei, proving that every shared interest has the potential to spark a new friendship.

“Music has always had the unique ability to bring people together, but the best moments happen when fans go beyond sharing the same playlist and start creating real connections,” said Heineken Malaysia marketing director Sean O’Donnell.

“At the heart of Just Say Hei is the belief that making the first move shouldn’t feel intimidating. Heineken House and the Hei Zone were designed to give people the confidence to say hello and see where it leads. Whether it began with a shared song or a simple conversation, the night showed that some of the best friendships start when people connect in real life,” he added.

The Hei Zone set the tone for the evening before fans immersed themselves in a curated line-up of international, regional and local artistes across two immersive music rooms.

At Star Arena, Axwell headlined the high-energy main stage, delivering iconic dance anthems and fan-favourite tracks that united fans in a massive sing-along celebration.

Meanwhile, Star Club offered a more intimate 360-degree experience, with Baby Jand TyeTurner performing a back-to-back set, leading an energetic programme spanning house, techno and baile funk.

The dual-room format celebrated the diversity of music fandoms, creating spaces to unite diverse music communities.

Through “Fans Have More Friends”, Heineken continues to champion real-world social connection through shared passions like music, football and Formula 1.
