
Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur successfully concluded its second-year month-long “Konnichiwa Japan – Together, Here” cultural campaign on August 2, 2026, highlighted by the three-day Pavilion x JAGAM Matsuri 2026 grand finale held from July 31 to August 2.
Co-organized by the Japan Graduates’ Association of Malaysia (JAGAM) and Pavilion Bukit Jalil, the second annual Matsuri was supported by the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia.

The three-day Pavilion x JAGAM Matsuri 2026 was held at the Centre Court Level 2.
The opening ceremony was attended by Japanese Ambassador to Malaysia Shikata Noriyuki and Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Sdn Bhd executive chairman Puan Sri Cindy Lim, Tourism Malaysia international promotion (Asia/Africa) senior director Nuwal Fadhilah Ku Azmi, JAGAM president Gary Tang and Pavilion REIT deputy chief executive officer Patrick Liau.

The celebration, aligned with Visit Malaysia 2026, featured traditional performances, cultural showcases, interactive festival activities, a 70kg live maguro tuna cutting show with complimentary sashimi tasting, and a Spend & Win contest awarding three lucky Pavilion Bukit Jalil members 7-day, 6-night holiday packages for two to Japan worth a total of RM80,000.
Sponsored by Joy Paradise, the prizes were presented during the closing ceremony.

Over the three-day festival, shoppers enjoyed a vibrant line-up of Japanese entertainment, cultural showcases and immersive experiences, featuring headline performances by Malaysia-based J-pop idol group KLP48, Japanese singer-songwriter Kenichi Yamasaki, J-pop dance group The Jumpers, cosplay performers Mao Xian and Akiho, and comedian Mr Cherry.

A key highlight of the festival was the daily Bon Odori dances, a traditional Japanese dance to bring shoppers into a lively celebration spirit.
The celebration also showcased Japanese traditions through Wadaiko by Wadaiko Syo, Yosakoi Dance by Malaysia KL Seiran Matoi & Kobe Seiran Matoi, Eisa Dance Okinawa by Hirano Kijimuna, and a Kimono Fashion Show.

Shoppers explored the Moshi-Moshi Bazaar at the Piazza (Level 3), with over 120 booths featuring Japanese street food, desserts, lifestyle products, handcrafted creations and cultural activities; and the Marketplace (Level 2 Zones) highlighting Japanese snacks, crafts and cultural displays.
Shoppers redeemed exclusive gifts like Furoshiki wraps and Tsutaya Books tote bags with qualifying single-receipt spends.

Yap said that the Pavilion x Jagam Matsuri celebrates community connections through cultural exchange alongside Japanese traditions, marking the successful second-year partnership with the Japan Graduates’ Association of Malaysia.
“Our second-year partnership with Jagam, together with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia reflects our shared commitment to bringing communities together through meaningful experiences.

The Konnichiwa Japan – Together, Here” campaign strengthened Pavilion Bukit Jalil’s commitment to fostering meaningful cultural exchange between Malaysia and Japan with a month of food fairs, cultural showcases and traditional arts.
With the successful conclusion of its second year, Pavilion Bukit Jalil continues to build on “Konnichiwa Japan – Together, Here” as a signature annual platform celebrating Japanese culture while bringing communities together through meaningful cultural exchange and immersive experiences.
