Samsung officially launches Galaxy Z series in Malaysia

Malaysian music icon Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza made a special guest appearance at Samsung Malaysia’s Haus of Fold roadshow launch event on August 14, 2026, at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, where she shared her personal experience using the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8.

Samsung officially launched its latest Galaxy Z Series, including the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 in Malaysia on August 14, 2026, alongside the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Series is the Malaysian’s choice of foldable, reflecting strong local demand and tailored lifestyle integration.

The rollout kicked off with the “Haus of Fold” roadshow at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, with retail prices starting from RM5,399 for the Flip8, RM7,299 for Fold 8 and go up to RM8,099 for the Fold8 Ultra.

Samsung Malaysia Electronics president Charles Kim credited the enthusiastic response to the series’ versatile form factor that seamlessly supports Malaysians’ mobile, connected lifestyles.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Series partnered with the upcoming Malaysian action movie Takluk 2: Op Daulat. Lead actors Syafiq Kyle, Mimi Lana, Kamal Adli and Anas Ridzuan made a special appearance at the event to preview the movie trailer and share their filming experiences using the Galaxy Z Series.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold8 are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, while the Galaxy Z Flip8 is powered by the Samsung Exynos 2600 processor.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 features a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main inner display (4:3 aspect ratio) when open and incorporates a dual-layer Flex Titanium structure beneath the screen for added durability. It weighs 201 grams and measures 4.5mm thick when unfolded.

Meanwhile, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra features a massive 8.0-inch main screen, 4.1mm ultra-slim profile when open, top-tier multi-tasking capabilities, and an upgraded camera system helps users capture richer detail, color, and clarity.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 is Samsung’s sleekest Flip ever, features a slim 6.1mm build when open and advanced Galaxy AI integration. Its reimagined FlexWindow brings apps, insights, actions and assistance directly to the cover screen based on users’ personalized information.

At the wrist, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 are flagship smart watches running Android Wear OS 7 with One UI Watch 9.

Both watches share the same core engine and software ecosystem, delivering identical AI-driven health tracking capabilities.

The Watch 9 starts at RM 1,499 for the everyday 40mm aluminum model, while the rugged, titanium 47mm Watch Ultra 2 is priced at RM3,399 and features a massive 5,000-nit screen and 800mAh battery.
