The Walk of Malaysia KL 2026 celebrates culture, fashion and international friendship

The Walk of Malaysia – Kuala Lumpur 2026 took place on August 8, 2026, at Saloma Kuala Lumpur. The evening event ran from 6pm to 10pm, uniting culture, couture, empowerment and global friendship under the leadership of organizer Amy Chiew and event director Datin Narena.

The Walk of Malaysia – Kuala Lumpur 2026 successfully concluded its Kuala Lumpur leg on August 8, 2026 at Saloma Kuala Lumpur, celebrating the beauty of Malaysian heritage, fashion, empowerment and international friendship.

Spearheaded by organizer Amy Chiew alongside event director Datin Narena and footwear brand Nottingheels, it brought together local and international delegates from Malaysia, Borneo, Vietnam, China, Japan, India, and the Philippines to showcase heritage, tourism and unity through traditional and couture fashion.

Nottingheels founder and creative director and The Walk of Malaysia organizer Amy Chiew presents a token of appreciation to Muhamad Nasir Pahmi representing Tourism Malaysia.

The cultural fashion event featured a Tourism & Culture Costume Competition showcasing traditional Malaysian batik and songket designs transformed into modern runway couture.

United through Nottingheels, participants walk together as one, symbolising unity, empowerment and a shared commitment to bring Malaysia to the world.

The competition promoted Malaysia’s cultural pride, unity and local craftsmanship to both local and international audiences.

Distinguished guests at the event included Bangi Convention Centre founder and chairman Dato’ Haji Mohammad Sahar Mat Din; Tourism Malaysia’s human resources director Muhamad Nasir Pahmi, package development deputy senior director Azmi Abdullah and senior assistant director Azham Ishak; and Third Secretary and Vice-Consul of the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur Patricia Anne Laggui.

The Kuala Lumpur edition of the Walk of Malaysia 2026 marks a milestone in the growing journey of The Walk of Malaysia, following its March 6 international launch in Paris.

The journey continues toward the grand finale at the Langkawi Awards Night & Gala Dinner on September 12, 2026, at Resorts World Langkawi.

The Walk of Malaysia has future plans to expand its annual cultural-fashion movement to Sabah for the 2027 edition. The proposed expansion aims to showcase East Malaysia’s unique heritage, local culture, and economic potential on a larger stage.

The official Brand Ambassadors for The Walk of Malaysia – Kuala Lumpur 2026 announced during the event were Tang Siaw Leng representing Malaysia, Anastasia Doping representing Borneo and Nicole Angel S. Butawan representing the Philippines.

Special and costume awards were presented to recognize exceptional talent, cultural expression and creativity.
