Suria KLCC sets Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2026 in motion with RR by Rizman Ruzaini

The “Suria KLCC presents RR by Rizman Ruzaini” event took place on August 3, 2026, at the Esplanade, KLCC Park. It marked the grand opening of the 14th edition of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) 2026, showcasing the Cruise 2026 collection titled RR Vol 4: Heritage in Motion.

Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) 2026 kicked off its 14th edition on August 3, 2026, with an opening show presented by Suria KLCC featuring the Malaysian label RR by Rizman Ruzaini at the Esplanade, KLCC Park.

Titled “Suria KLCC presents RR by Rizman Ruzaini,” the event launched the label’s Cruise 2026 collection, “RR Vol 4: Heritage in Motion” spearheading a week-long showcase (Aug 3 to 9) of over 50 local designers and labels under this year’s theme, “Destination: Home Ground”.

Inspired by nostalgic Malaysian streetscapes, the collection transforms traditional motifs like trishaws, bicycle gears and vintage travel into sleek, contemporary silhouettes.

More than 500 guests attended the packed outdoor showcase set against the Petronas Twin Towers.

Staged inside KLFW’s newly reimagined show hall at the KLCC Esplanade – a monochromatic, heritage-inspired structure adapted from archival batik prints from Yayasan Sabah – the collection was presented on an all-white, hourglass-shaped runway.

The opening night drew a high-profile guest list, including KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd group chief executive officer Datuk Sr Mohd. Salem Kailany, and Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd executive director and chief executive officer Francis Tan to witness RR by Rizman Ruzaini’s “Heritage in Motion” showcase.

Francis Tan said the opening show featuring the label RR by Rizman Ruzaini reflected the strong retail partnership and success story forged between the mall and the homegrown Malaysian fashion brand.

“Rizman Ruzaini represents a great success story within the Malaysian fashion industry, and we are proud to count them among our esteemed retail partners here at Suria KLCC.

“Entrusting them with the opening show is a reflection of the platform we have built, and the standard Suria KLCC continues to set for Malaysian fashion.

“Heritage in Motion captured exactly what Destination: Home Ground is about – taking what is distinctly Malaysian and giving it a stage worthy of the world. It set the perfect tone for what promises to be an unforgettable week of Malaysian creativity,” he said.

Leading the opening KLFW 2026 highlights a significant recognition for the brand’s founders, and marks the beginning of a closer collaboration with the mall. The milestone follows a major breakthrough for the designer duo Rizman and co-founder Ruzaini who fulfilled a career-long dream of opening their first boutique in Suria KLCC with the RR label in 2025, after nearly two decades building their label in Malaysia.

“At the end of the day, brand trust is very important, and having a space in Suria KLCC means your brand is trusted,” Rizman said.

The KLFW 2026 is presented in collaboration with Suria KLCC and KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd, and supported by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) as principal industry strategic partner in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026.

This year’s calendar featured a diverse mix of fresh debut labels, established names and cross-industry collaborations, alongside on-ground activations across Suria KLCC including styling displays by fashion students at Isetan KLCC and a curated Jom Malaysia pop-up by KPDN.

“Championing Malaysian fashion is both a responsibility and a key business priority for us. While global luxury brands bring prestige, our local labels give us our heart, heritage and unique identity,” Tan added. “Positioning local powerhouses like Rizman Ruzaini alongside international couture houses shows that Malaysian design is truly world-class – and this opening night was proof of that ambition realised.”
