Rotary International District 3300 in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Rahman Putra as co-organiser, will host a “End Polio Now” charity concert on April 22, 2026 at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur.
This meaningful evening brings together music, community and purpose in support of Rotary’s global End Polio Now campaign, which aims to eradicate polio through vaccination and advocacy.
Supported by Beason Hospital, the concert will centre stage the Selangor Symphony Youth Orchestra (SSYO), conducted by internationally acclaimed maestro Eugene Pook, featuring performances by celebrated local vocalists Eddie Yang Ting, Angeline Wong Xiao Feng and Estee Pook, creating a compelling collaboration between emerging orchestral talent and established voices in Malaysia’s music scene.

Beacon Hospital chief executive officer Hoe Cheah How said that polio cannot be cured once contracted, and prevention through vaccination is the only way to protect children and individuals from the disease.
“Healthcare does not stop at treatment – it begins with prevention.
“Polio is a disease the world has the tools to eradicate. Supporting this effort is part of our responsibility as a healthcare institution committed to a healthier future for all,” he said during a press conference held at Beacon Hospital on April 13, 2026 to announce the upcoming End Polio Now charity concert.

Meanwhile, Rotary District 3300 charter president Dr Chua Keng Soon said funds raised from the concert will directly support ongoing vaccination and awareness initiatives, with contributions matched 2-to-1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
“The concert is not just about music – it’s about uniting as a community to finish the fight against a preventable disease.
“With the support of partners like Beacon Hospital, we are reminded that meaningful change happens when compassion meets action,” he said.

Beacon Hospital’s support for this year’s concert underscores a dedicated commitment to advancing healthcare that extends beyond clinical care to champion global health initiatives. Their support reflects a shared vision with Rotary to eradicate preventable diseases and improve lives worldwide.
Rotary International has united communities to drive lasting change for more than a century, leveraging a global network of more than 1.2 million members in over 35,000 clubs worldwide.
Through its End Polio Now campaign, Rotary and its global partners have reduced polio cases by 99.9% since 1988, immunising over 2.5 billion children across 122 countries.

The End Polio Now concert offers opportunities for members of the public, corporate partners and supporters of global health initiatives to support, attend and contribute to this meaningful cause.
