Milo Malaysia Breakfast Day 2026 kicks off in Kota Kinabalu with 9,000 attendees

The Milo Malaysia Breakfast Day 2026 successfully kicked off its nationwide tour at Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on May 24, 2026.

The event drew around 9,000 enthusiasts who gathered for an energizing morning of healthy habits, family bonding and an active lifestyle.

The event aims to encourage healthier lifestyles, reinforcing the importance of having a nutritious breakfast and starting the day with physical activities, especially among families and younger Malaysians.

The Milo Malaysia Breakfast Day 2026: Thousands of Sabahans recently gathered to promote healthy habits, featuring the signature run and active family breakfasts.

Participants of all ages joined the 3 km fun run, alongside group workouts, sports challenges and interactive educational booths.

The event was flagged off at 6:30 am by State Assistant Minister of Youth Development, Sports Advancement and Creative Industries, Dato’ Sri Dr Anil Sandhu.

He expressed his gratitude for Milo’s commitment to grassroots sports and youth development in Sabah such as the Karnival Sukan Sekolah Pedalaman, Milo Hidup Bola and Rayzam Shah Athletic Club.

“Looking around and seeing so many families here together it really warms the heart. Milo is a drink that has always been close to us – it gives you energy and it’s good for our children and our community,” he said.

Runners are all smiles and full of energy, enjoying every step of the run alongside Sabah’s stunning iconic landmark.

Datuk Sr Lifred Wong, director general of Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu echoed this sentiment, noting that Milo has long held a special place in the hearts of Sabahans, representing school mornings, growing years and cherished memories across generations.

“We warmly welcome the Milo Malaysia Breakfast Day run in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Programmes like this will definitely encourage Sabahans of all ages to start their day right and live an active lifestyle,” he said.

Also in attendance at the event were Nestle Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei chief executive officer Juan Aranols, Nestle Malaysia business executive officer (Milo) Ng Su Yen, Nestle Malaysia consumer marketing manager (Milo) Andrew Yoon Peng Fai, Kota Kinabalu Police Station⁠ chief police office ASP Muhammad Abu Zar Jali @ Ramli and Friend of Milo, Nadhir Nasar.

Beyond the runs, the Milo Malaysia Breakfast Day events feature mini games, fitness challenges and interactive activities.

At the run, some of the participants shared their personal stories and memories of Milo.

“All 30 of us, from my mom and dad to my cousins, came here with excitement in our hearts, staying overnight here so we could wake up early and experience the incredible spirit of this run together.

“We travelled 40 km from Papar to join the event in Kota Kinabalu. It was never just about distance but about family, memories and the joy of being together.

“Milo has been part of my life since childhood, a symbol of energy and cherished moments that stay with you forever. So, thank you Milo for inspiring healthier lifestyles and creating these moments for families like ours to treasure for years to come,” said Afiqah Daid, 24.

Beyond the run, the nationwide Milo Malaysia Breakfast Day events feature mini games, fitness challenges and interactive activities.

The appearance of the iconic Milo truck also brought back fond childhood memories of many participants who fondly remember queueing up on school sports days for that signature cup of ice-cold chocolate malt.

“We used to get so excited and would even race each other just to get our Milo drink first,” said University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) student Siti Asfadilah Abdullah, 25.

Following the successful kickoff in Sabah, the Milo Malaysia Breakfast Day will continue its journey to Kuala Terengganu, Kuching, Kuantan and Kota Bharu, before concluding with its grand finale in Putrajaya on 12 July 2026.
