The Malaysian Mandarin-language drama film Sisters’ Melody (姐妹的旋律) by Graceful Entertainment Sdn Bhd promoting autism awareness, officially premieres in cinemas nationwide on June 25, 2026.
The movie tells the story of an older sister who must balance her musical ambitions while taking care of her autistic younger sister after their mother’s passing.

Inspired by true events, ” Sisters Melody” centers on the heavy emotional and life-altering burden placed on the older sibling. The narrative beautifully captures the journey of two sisters as they navigate life’s challenges, test the limits of their familial bonds and ultimately find hope and strength through music.

The film is directed by Choo Thiam Fong.
The main cast members of the film include Faye An Ying Fei (安映霏) as Xiu Wen (the older sister), Chuah Yi Ern (蔡忆恩) as Xiu Min (the autistic younger sister), Yayaqi Ang (洪芝静) as Ai Lin and Leon Eng Kiam Ping (黄健彬) as Jun Peng
The film features subtitles in Bahasa Melayu, English and Chinese, a P12 rating and has a runtime of 1 hour and 41 minutes.

The exclusive gala premiere for the film took place on June 22, 2026 at TGV Pavilion Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur. The screening was graced by the director and cast in person, who met with audiences and media to promote the upcoming nationwide release.
The event brought together over 100 autistic children, their parents, educators and community members for an inspiring and inclusive cinematic experience.
The children were able to successfully go to the cinema with their family and enjoy the whole movie. This was a rare and meaningful experience for many of the children entering a cinema for the first time, and breaking down societal stereotypes that autistic children cannot spend extended periods in a movie theatre.

Beyond its cinematic storytelling, the Sisters’ Melody serves as a vital platform for disability advocacy. Graceful Entertainment aims to leverage the poignant story to elevate public awareness, foster deeper understanding and encourage genuine acceptance and inclusion for the autism community and their families.

Graceful Entertainment stated that the success of bringing over 100 autistic children to sit through the entire screening highlights the importance of the long-term, supportive groundwork laid by teachers, parents and related institutions.
This was not just a film premiere, but also a social education campaign focussed on understanding, inclusion and love.
