Mala At Altitude culinary takeover at Resorts World Genting

Resorts World Genting’s “Mala At Altitude” campaign runs until July 31, 2026, putting a spicy spin on classic Malaysian comfort food.

Resorts World Genting in Genting Highlands has launched its highly anticipated Mala At Altitude campaign.

Running until July 31, 2026, the promotion takes over five dining outlets across the resort’s food hubs with spicy, lip-numbing Sichuan twists on local Malaysian favorites.

Held 6,000 feet above sea level, the campaign features five exclusive mala-inspired dishes, including Nasi Lemak Ayam Gepuk Sambal Meletop, Mala Roti Tisu, Mala Ikan Patin Bakar, Mala Chicken Rice and Mala Gelato.

The journey starts at Jom Makan SkyAvenue (Level G SkyAvenue), with the colossal Nasi Lemak Ayam Gepuk Sambal Meletop, where crispy smashed fried chicken is drenched in fiery mala sambal. Built for sharing, the RM82.50 platter serves up to four people and comes with drink add-ons at RM3 each, perfect for testing your spice tolerance while enjoying a cooling mountain breeze.

At Lobby Cafe (First World Hotel lobby), guests can discover what is believed to be Malaysia’s first-ever Mala Roti Tissue, served crispy with butter and a special mala dipping sauce. Served fresh and hot, this crossover of crispy flatbread and bold mala flavours treat costs RM9 or RM13 with a drink combo.

For dessert lovers, Italgelato at First World Hotel, and Bakery at Genting Grand present the Mala Gelato, a fusion of creamy sweetness and tingling spice to cool off your palate after the spicy mains, making it a uniquely addictive and dangerously good flavor experience. Priced at RM9 for a single scoop and RM16 for a double scoop.

Meanwhile, the Mala Hainanese Chicken Rice, a pioneering fusion dish introduced by Malaysian Food Street (Level 4, SkyAvenue), reinvents a classic steamed chicken rice by elevating tender steamed chicken and fragrant rice with a fiery ginger-garlic sauce infused with numbing mala seasoning.

Priced at RM24 for the ala carte dish, or RM28 for a combo that includes a refreshing herbal tea (Luo Han Guo, Chrysanthemum, or Sugar Cane) to balance the heat.

The Fire Pit at Gohtong Way, Central Park, has created a sensational hit with their Mala Ikan Patin Bakar. Priced at RM58 with soft drinks at just RM2, this bold and smoky dish balances traditional Malaysian grilled patin with a fiery mala sauce and creamy peanut butter served with mantou.

This seasonal promotion highlights the versatility of mala as a flavor profile, moving far beyond traditional hotpots to infuse local favorites. Whether you prefer the savory crunch of fried chicken or the unique numbing sensation in a frozen dessert, these dishes offer a totally unique way to experience Malaysian fusion cuisine.
