Encik Tan, a Singaporean halal-certified hawker fare concept under Fei Siong Group, officially makes its Malaysia debut on May 6, 2026 with its first outlet at SkyPark Terminal in Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang.

The opening marks a new phase of regional growth, expanding on its current footprint of 21 outlets in Singapore and one in Jakarta, to provide accessible halal Chinese hawker dining in the Malaysian market.

The outlet serves signature Chinese hawker dishes such as Chicken Cutlet Curry Rice (RM15), Fishball Noodles (RM13), Prawn Hokkien Mee (RM18), Claypot Chicken Rice (RM18) and Signature Noodles (RM20), alongside a range of local favourites inspired by well-known hawker classics.

The outlet operates daily from 6.30 am to 10.30 pm.

Fei Siong Group founder and managing director Tan Kim Siong said Subang SkyPark presented a timely opportunity for Encik Tan to enter the Malaysian market, from the heart of Singapore to the heart of Kuala Lumpur, bringing “honest, nostalgic and full of comfort” hawker flavors to travellers, airport staff and the surrounding Subang community.

“This opening kickstarts our regional expansion into Malaysia, with further outlets planned across key cities including Johor and Kuala Lumpur, in line with the Group’s broader long-term expansion ambitions,” he said.

With the Malaysia outlet currently in the process of obtaining the halal certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim), the menu is prepared using halal-certified ingredients, ensuring a secure dining experience with familiar, comfort-driven dishes, boosting confidence for Muslim diners seeking everyday accessible halal meals.

The outlet spans 1,800 square feet and is designed for efficiency and comfort, hosting up to 50 seated diners in a warm, contemporary setting. The layout utilizes a mix of banquette seating for space efficiency and armchairs/tables for flexibility, accommodating both quick meals and casual dine-ins.

A bold orange-and-white color palette, complemented by a backlit brand mural and open ordering counter gives the outlet a welcoming, clean and vibrant high-energy look, reinforcing Encik Tan’s identity as a modern, accessible take on local hawker food.

The Subang SkyPark places the brand within a high-traffic strategic location that captures transit and everyday dining occasions, serving travellers, airport staff and nearby communities. This strategic entry point boosts visibility and allows Encik Tan to test and refine its offering in a setting that mirrors its core proposition – accessible, convenient hawker food for daily consumption.

Encik Tan’s Malaysian expansion leverages a partnership with Bake With Yen (BWY), the country’s largest baking-supplies retailer with over three decades of industry experience, to establish a strong presence. The collaboration enables the brand to establish a strong and scalable presence in the Malaysian market.

Encik Tan is part of Fei Siong Group, a Singaporean F&B operator that began as a single hawker stall and has since grown into a regional player with over 150 outlets across multiple markets.

The brand brings with it a track record of strong consumer demand, anchored by signature dishes such as its Fishball Noodles recording over 10 million bowls sold, and more than 1.5 million plates of its popular Chicken Cutlet Curry Rice sold since its establishment in 2014.

To mark its opening, Encik Tan will be offering a complimentary drink (Iced Rose Syrup, Iced Blueberry or Iced Calamansi) with every meal purchase from May 7 to 8, 2026. The promotion is available to passengers with a valid boarding pass and airport staff (one redemption per person, while stocks last).
