DermaAngel celebrates 10th anniversary with new Tweety acne patch collection

DermaAngel, a leading skincare brand under BenQ Materials Corp, celebrated its 10th anniversary in Malaysia with a special Smart Picks Pop-Up Experience at the Watsons Malaysia Health Fair at 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Petaling Jaya from April 28 to May 3, 2026.

The event themed “Not All Pimples Are The Same”, focuses on providing specific, tailored acne solutions for different types of acne, promoting the “Smart Picks” concept.

To mark the milestone, the brand launched its first-ever Tweety limited-edition pimple patch collection, in collaboration with Looney Tunes, featuring the beloved character Tweety’s playful, collectible designs on their high-performance hydrocolloid acne patches.

These patches combine DermaAngel’s signature high-performance medical-grade hydrocolloid technology with added Salicylic Acid to effectively absorb pus and oil while accelerating the healing of acne and reducing redness.

Utilizing the latest Multi-color Lamination Printing technology, the patches feature detailed, high-quality character designs, such as Tweety’s face, that remain visible while worn.

The celebration included workshops with dermatologists sharing insights on acne-prone skin, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to dermatology-led care.

The DermaAngel “Smart Picks for Your Acne” concept is a targeted skincare approach launched to guide consumers select the precise acne patch based on their specific acne type, location and severity.

The patches feature an ultra-thin 0.01cm matte edge design, with skin-friendly, translucent edges for high invisibility under makeup, and are waterproof and breathable.

The product collection features medical-grade hydrocolloid technology, including four classic variants designed to address different acne needs: the Original Acne Patch focuses on absorbing pus and oil (using hydrocolloid) and protecting the blemish; Acne Patch Plus with Tea Tree Oil to soothe and treat acne; Acne Patch Plus with Salicylic Acid to enhance acne healing, soften dead skin cells, and provide antibacterial effects; and Spot Lightening Patch with TXA+CICA specifically to lighten dark spots/acne marks and soothe irritation.

DermaAngel also introduces the Contour Patch, specially designed to manage larger breakout areas and clusters rather than single pimples, making it ideal for areas like the forehead and chin. These patches provide broader coverage and are shaped to fit the contours of the face.

DermaAngel’s (formerly Miacare) journey in Malaysia has been a successful, long-term collaboration with Watsons. The brand entered the Malaysian market in 2013 under the name Miacare, establishing its presence immediately through Watsons’ retail network and gradually established a strong reputation while earning the trust of local consumers.

In 2016, Miacare rebranded to DermaAngel to continue its focus on acne care, building a distinctive presence across the Asian market, while maintaining its strong partnership with Watsons Malaysia. By November 2019, the Malaysian market had fully transitioned to the DermaAngel brand.

Now, as DermaAngel celebrates its 10th anniversary, it also marks a decade-long partnership with Watsons Malaysia that has seen the brand grow from a niche acne care solution into a market leader, largely built through its exclusive presence in Watsons stores.
