The Chicken Rice Shop (TCRS) celebrates its 26th anniversary in August 2026 with a nationwide brand refresh.
The milestone features a revamped look for its Little Chick mascot, new staff uniforms, a redesigned menu book, fresh local menu additions and special promotions across its more than 160 outlets nationwide.

The refresh also introduced expanded merchandise, including TCRS’ own Sambal Chilli Crunch, giving Malaysians new ways to enjoy the brand’s familiar flavours.

The Chicken Rice Shop Restaurants Sdn Bhd deputy general manager Jane Wong said the anniversary reflects the brand’s past growth while looking forward to future potential.
“For 26 years, Malaysians have made The Chicken Rice Shop part of their everyday moments, and we are incredibly grateful for that support.
“This refresh isn’t just about a new look – it’s about showing Malaysians that there’s so much more to discover with us, from new dishes to new ways to bring our flavours home,” she said.

The milestone event highlights its signature Hainanese chicken rice and new menu items like Boneless Crispy Roast Chicken, Strawberry Kunafa Pai Tee, BBQ Chicken Mayo Pai Tee, and Cakoi with Pandan Gula Melaka, celebrating its journey since opening its first outlet in USJ Taipan in 2000.

Beyond the brand refresh, TCRS also marked the milestone by highlighting its long-standing corporate social responsibility programme. Since 2000, the brand has sponsored over 7,000 meals each year for orphanages, welfare groups and nurseries across Malaysia.

TCRS also launched its annual Merdeka promotion running from now till September 20, 2026 to celebrate Malaysia’s upcoming National Day on August 31st. The campaign features an RM16.90 set meal with a Single Portion Chicken (Steamed, Roast, or Soy Sauce), Chicken Rice, a choice of Keropok Lekor or Penang Rojak, and a 12oz soft drink.

Since opening its first restaurant in 2000, TCRS has grown into a major halal family restaurant chain in Malaysia with more than 160 outlets. The company remains committed to offering affordable and familiar local meals for everyone.
“Twenty-six years in, we’re still the same Chicken Rice Shop that Malaysians have trusted – we’ve simply found new ways to serve them better, whether that’s through new flavours on our menu or the little ways we give back to the communities that have supported us,” added Wong.
