Midea partners 99 Speed Mart to expand home appliance accessibility across Malaysia

Midea, a global smart home appliance manufacturer, is bringing its small home appliances to over 3,100 99 Speed Mart outlets nationwide starting in August 2026, offering everyday items like blenders, rice cookers and fans for convenient local purchase.

The collaboration was formalised with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Midea and 99 Speed Mart, marking another milestone in the brand’s long-term growth strategy for Malaysia.

The MoU was signed by Midea Malaysia managing director Mark Tam, witnessed by Midea Group Asia Pacific president Zeal Jiang.

99 Speed Mart was represented by its chief operating officer Yong Eng Kwang, witnessed by executive director and chief executive officer Mr Lee Thiam Wah.

Tam said that the expanded retail network via Speed Tam said the expanded retail network via 99 Speed Mart brings Midea’s latest technologies, particularly small home appliances closer to local neighborhoods.

“For consumers, the expanded retail network means easier access to Midea’s latest technologies, particularly home appliances such as blenders, electric kettles, rice cookers, fans, toasters and toaster ovens, vacuums and stoves.

“By partnering with 99 Speed Mart, Midea gains access to one of Malaysia’s most extensive retail networks, enabling the brand to reach more neighbourhoods and serve consumers where they live and shop in line with 99 Speed Mart’s tagline Near n’ Save,” he said.

“The move complements Midea’s existing brand stores and authorised dealer network, creating more touchpoints for customers to discover, experience and purchase its products,” he added.

Meanwhile, Lee said the partnership marks an important milestone for 99 Speed Mart as it broadens its product offering beyond traditional convenience items.

“As the country’s largest mini market chain, we are always looking for ways to better serve the everyday needs of Malaysians, and this collaboration allows us to offer greater convenience by making quality home appliances more accessible through our nationwide network,” he said.

Starting August 2026, customers at 99 Speed Mart outlets nationwide will be able to purchase a selection of Midea’s small home appliances.
