Cyber Spa: A digital space where users can de-stress and relax

Digital technology has allowed us to stay connected and use online devices in a sustainable way during the Covid-19 pandemic but the crisis has led to a rise in anxiety and stress and affecting our mental state of health.

Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky Southeast Asia general manager Yeo Siang Tiong said many people have switched working and other activities at home, in turn lessening their leisure time, social activities, and the possibility of disconnecting.

“The global health crisis greatly impacts our mental health. It has been a huge cause of stress and increased feeling of vulnerability. This is because our basic human need for security, as stated in Maslow’s pyramid, has been threatened,” he said.

Yeo said Kaspersky has developed an online stress management tool called Cyber Spa, to help take care of one’s mental wellbeing.

“At Kaspersky, we believe that our digital wellbeing should be everyone’s priority, especially at this challenging time. With Cyber Spa, we hope to offer a virtual way to relax and take a breather every once in a while,” added Yeo.

Cyber Spa by Kaspersky is a unique digital space where users can practice various online relaxation techniques aimed at helping them handle digital stress and anxiety, and to regain their mental strength.

On this site, visitors can choose which tool or ‘treatment’ can benefit them the most at that moment.

There are four treatments offered to users:

Endless Serenity – Audiovisual meditation set
Sound Therapy – Relax and listen to future sounds
Fitness Selfie – Balance your face contours
Digital Stress Balls – Transcendental movement medication

There is also an option to go through a diagnostic test to check one’s stress level. After the test, the platform offers a set of relaxation techniques in the most suitable sequence.
