This Dragon Boat Festival, Resorts World Genting invites guests to embark on a culinary journey steeped in tradition and flavour, with its iconic and scrumptious gourmet bak chang (glutinous rice dumplings) taking centre stage.
Running from May 1 to June 19, 2026, the resort-wide promotion showcases a rich selection of handcrafted rice dumplings, available at its dining outlets throughout the resort.
This year’s Dragon Boat Festival, celebrated by the Chinese on June 19, the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, is marked by racing dragon-shaped boats, eating bak chang and honoring the ancient poet Qu Yuan.
All bak chang featured in this promotion are made in-house, handcrafted by the resort’s culinary teams using traditional ingredients and techniques.
These glutinous rice dumplings are meticulously prepared with succulent fillings, premium glutinous rice and aromatic spices to ensure a perfect, satisfying texture.

The 2026 promotion features five variants of dumplings, traditional and premium, with the luxurious Conpoy Bak Chang, priced at RM50, taking centre stage. It features a combination of glutinous rice with savory ingredients like dried scallops, pork, mushrooms, chestnuts, and double salted egg yolks. Each bite delivers a deep, savoury satisfaction that lingers.
The Hokkien Bak Chang (RM19), a traditional delight, offers a well-balanced option with aromatic glutinous rice containing succulent pork belly, chestnuts, mushrooms and dried shrimp.
For a subtle, delightful touch of sweetness, the Nyonya Bak Chang (RM19) provides a sweet-savoury Peranakan-style rice dumpling with minced pork, mushrooms and dried shrimp.
Adding a subtle twist to tradition, the Millet Rice Bak Chang (RM22) blends golden millet with glutinous rice for a nutty aroma and a more textured bite. The grains offer a contrasting, textured bite that complements the savoury filling, resulting in a dumpling that feels both wholesome and deeply satisfying.
For a lighter finish, the Crystal Bak Chang (RM8) offers a mild, refreshing and sweet contrast to richer rice dumpling, featuring translucent skin that cleanses the palate.
Featuring traditional and premium flavours, these dumplings are available at locations including Lao Di Fang, Level 2, Highlands Hotel; Old Friends Restaurant, Level 2, Highlands Hotel; Grand Cha Chaan Teng, Level 1, SkyAvenue; Sky Good Luck Restaurant, Level 1, SkyCasino; Sky Fortune Corner, Level 2, SkyCasino; Peace Cafe, Level 3, SkyCasino; Hainan Kitchen Express and Fortune Corner, Level 3, Genting Casino; and Malaysian Food Street at Level 4, SkyAvenue, with a 10% discount for Genting Rewards members.
