Genting Malaysia upgrades infrastructure at two Pahang schools

Genting Malaysia Berhad has officially handed over improved infrastructure to two beneficiary schools in Pahang under the “Sekolah Angkat Madani” (SAM) initiative, as part of its Genting Bersama Malaysia corporate social responsibility program.

The infrastructure improvements and renovations create a more conducive learning environment for students, teachers and the community at large.

The two beneficiary schools are Sekolah Kebangsaan Felda Sungai Kemahal, Triang and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan LKTP Kampung Sertik, Karak, both of which received targeted upgrades aimed at improving teaching and learning facilities.

The event was held at Sekolah Kebangsaan Felda Sungai Kemahal, reaffirming Genting Malaysia’s long-term commitment to supporting national education development through strategic partnerships.

The ceremony was officiated by Pahang education director Ahmad Zamri Md Isa, and witnessed by Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh as guest of honour.

The Sekolah Angkat Madani initiative implemented by Genting Malaysia focuses on enhancing school infrastructure, strengthening learning environments and supporting the broader education ecosystem.

Each intervention is designed based on the specific needs of the school, through engagement sessions to identify challenges faced by school administrators, teachers and students.

At Sekolah Kebangsaan Felda Sungai Kemahal, the project included several key enhancements, including cleaning and repair of the computer laboratory roof; refurbishment of science lab, including the provision of projectors, tables and fans; classroom upgrades with installation of ceiling fans, Google TVs, internet dongles and LCD projectors to support digital learning.

In addition, the school’s main hall was equipped with a new Public Address (PA) system and rostrum; a new softball batting cage was constructed to support the school’s sports team; and air conditioning units were installed at the teachers’ lounge.

Meanwhile, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan LKTP Kampung Sertik received comprehensive upgrades to its main hall, including new floor tiles, electrical rewiring, a new PA system, speakers, LCD projectors and display monitors.

The school’s catering room for students was also refurbished with new cooking appliances and tables to support learning activities.

In his remarks, Pahang education director Ahmad Zamri Md Isasaid that the Sekolah Angkat Madani initiative reflects a strong collaborative approach between the education sector and the corporate community.

“Meaningful contributions such as these go beyond infrastructure improvements, they create a more conducive and future ready learning environment for both students and educators,” he said.

Representing Genting Malaysia, Resorts World Genting (RWG) sales, marketing and public relations executive vice-president Spencer Lee said that the Genting Bersama Malaysia CSR initiative reflects RWG’s commitment to long-term education through collaborative effort.

“Every Sekolah Angkat Madani initiative is tailored to the specific needs of each school. We take the time to listen, understand their challenges, and deliver support that is relevant, practical and sustainable,” he said.
