The Qianxi’nan tourism and cultural roadshow successfully took place on Sept 11, 2026 at the Sunway Velocity Mall, bringing the heritage and scenery of Guizhou, China, to Kuala Lumpur.
The hosting of the event in Kuala Lumpur highlights Qianxinan Prefecture’s strategic push to promote its cultural tourism to the Malaysian market, while also offering the local Malaysian community to directly experience and understand the southwestern Chinese region’s rich cultural heritage, ethnic diversity and breathtaking natural landscapes.

Promotional exhibits highlighted the spectacular world’s highest bridge, Huajiang Canyon Bridge, towering 625 metres (2,051 ft) above the river below; and famous landscapes like the cone-shaped karst peak forest of Wanfenglin (Forest of Ten Thousand Peaks) and the deep chasms of Maling River Canyon to appeal to nature lovers and photographers.

By showcasing its unique ethnic traditions, stunning karst landscapes and deep historical roots, Qianxinan aims to position itself as a premier destination for Malaysian travellers seeking authentic cultural experiences.

The roadshow featured traditional ethnic performances, unique folk music and interactive cultural booths. Visitors explored scenic photography, ethnic culture and promotional displays of Qianxinan’s landscapes, including the world’s highest bridge, alongside interactive check-ins and souvenir distributions.

Cultural performances from Guizhou’s Village Dance repertoire such as the Amei Qituo, Bayin Seated Performance, the Stool Dance, and the Bouyei Shuhua (Comb Flowers), took the stage, offering local audiences a vibrant showcase of traditional ethnic minority heritage and artistry.

A cultural tourism information and check-in booth offered face-to-face travel consultations, vibrant cultural showcases and informative multilingual tourism resources, drawing a steady stream of visitors.

Interactive segments, including a fun cultural tourism quiz and hands-on traditional instrument lessons, ignited enthusiastic participation from a large crowd of visitors.

Adopting a “going global” approach to attract visitors and explore new opportunities, the tourism and cultural exchange initiative by Qianxi’nan engaged Malaysian audiences through a diverse range of activities. Moving beyond quick sightseeing, the campaign invites Malaysians to explore, sojourn and embrace wellness living in a land renowned for its natural splendor.

The Qianxi’nan (Guizhou) Culture and Tourism & Wellness Tourism Promotion Event was hosted by the People’s Government of Qianxi’nan Prefecture and organized by the Qianxi’nan Prefecture Bureau of Culture, Sports, Radio, Television and Tourism.
The event serves as a vital bridge of cultural exchange, fostering closer ties, deeper mutual understanding, and enduring friendships between the local Malaysian community and the people of Guizhou province.

The cultural tourism promotional event successfully introduced Guizhou’s Qianxinan Prefecture and its signature brand, “A Forest of Peaks in the Sunny Qianxinan”; created a comprehensive international communication framework for Qianxi’nan; and boosted travel enthusiasm among Malaysians and global tourists.
