
Pos Malaysia, in collaboration with the Wildlife and National Parks Department Peninsular Malaysia (Perhilitan), launched the Parrots of Malaysia special stamp collection to celebrate World Parrot Day.
The limited-edition release highlights the ecological importance of Malaysia’s native parrot population and promotes wildlife conservation.

Three protected parrot species native to Malaysia’s rainforests are showcased:
- Long-tailed Parakeet (Psittacula longicauda) – Fully Protected under Act 716; IUCN Red List: Vulnerable (VU)
- Blue-rumped Parrot (Psittinus cyanurus) – Fully Protected under Act 716; IUCN Red List: Near Threatened (NT)
- Blue-crowned Hanging Parrot (Loriculus galgulus) – Protected under Act 716; IUCN Red List: Least Concern (LC)

The collection features two stamp denominations: RM1.00 (Blue-rumped Parrot) and RM1.30 (Blue-crowned Hanging Parrot) and a miniature sheet with unique die-cut edges shaped like the parrots’ natural silhouettes.
The Long-tailed Parakeet is the star of Pos Malaysia’s Parrots of Malaysia miniature sheet.
The Parrots of Malaysia complete folder set is priced at RM66.30 and includes both stamps, the miniature sheet, two First Day Covers and an exclusive folder.

The Parrots of Malaysia stamps is available for purchase starting May 31, 2026at 90 philatelic bureaus nationwide, including 13 General Post Offices, as well as selected post offices and the Pos Malaysia online store at www.pos.com.my/shop.

The launch features first day sales and exclusive commemorative cancellations at KL Bird Park (31 May 2026), Penang Bird Park (31 May 2026) and Langkawi Wildlife Park (3 June 2026).
Visitors to these locations also enjoy Bird Park promotions such as a 15% discount voucher for a KL Bird Park entry ticket with purchase of the folder set; a buy-1-free-1 ticket voucher for Penang Bird Park with every transaction at the Pos Malaysia counter; and a RM10 discount on standard adult and child admission at Langkawi Wildlife Park for every folder set purchased.
