The annual Malaysian International Food and Beverage Trade Fair (MIFB) returned this year under the theme “Fure-ready F&B: Serving the Evolution of Trends,” spotlighting cutting-edge innovations and transformations.
The three-day event held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from July 30-Aug 1, 2025 was officiated by Deputy Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Chan Foong Hin.

The event brought together over 12,000 trade visitors and more than 500 participating companies from 50 countries and regions, making it ASEAN’s premier gathering for F&B professionals.
The fair featured various programmes, including the MIFB Knowledge Hub, MyFoodTech showcase, Wine, Spirits & Beer Showcase, Malaysian Cafe Expo and Halal Certification Workshop, designed to spark industry dialogue and empower F&B players for future growth.
This year’s edition focused on three pillars: smart, sustainable and scalable that underscored MIFB’s commitment to driving industry progress through technology, responsibility and resilience.

Chan said MIFB has cemented itself as Malaysia’s premier stage for the entire F&B ecosystem over the years by fostering innovation, partnerships and sustainable growth.
“The theme of MIFB 2025, “Future-Ready F&B: Serving the Evolution of Trends”, captures our industry’s transformation through adapting to consumer preferences, embracing digitalisation and innovating sustainably. It mirrors the mission of our plantation and commodity sectors,” he said.
Chan said the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities remains committed to supporting Malaysia’s leadership in commodities and value-added F&B.
“Through R&D, sustainability initiatives and trade facilitation, we will help farmers, producers and entrepreneurs thrive.”
The event saw the debut of Malaysian Cafe Expo (MCE), a brand-new exhibition spotlighting the latest trends and foodservice innovations in the cafe business.
MIFB in partnership with Malaysian Specialty Coffee Association (MSCA), hosted the Malaysia National Coffee Championship (MNCC) semi-finals that brought together 48 of Malaysia’s top baristas, brewers, latte artists and sensory judges, where they competed for glory in four categories: Malaysia Brewers Cup 2025, Malaysia Barista Championship 2025, Malaysia Latte Art Championship 2025 and Malaysia Cup Tasters Championship 2025.

Malaysia Specialty Coffee Association president Kelvin Ngow Wai Hng said MNCC’s 10th anniversary reflected a decade of dedication to nurturing Malaysia’s specialty coffee community.
“This year’s competition welcomed a diverse mix of seasoned professionals and passionate newcomers, including many from the younger generation who bring fresh perspectives and creative approaches.
“From evolving brewing techniques to deeper storytelling and sensory exploration, this year’s lineup continues to showcase the professionalism and innovation that define Malaysia’s growing coffee scene,” he said.

Meanwhile, Constellar group chief executive officer Chua Wee Phong said consumer preferences are evolving at record pace in today’s fast-changing landscape, demanding transparency, health-conscious options, sustainability, ethical sourcing and digital convenience, all at once.
“This shift is driving F&B businesses to rethink, retool and reimagine their future.
“At MIFB, we don’t just respond to these trends, we lead the conversation around them.”

The MIFB Knowledge Hub brought together global thought leaders, researchers and seasoned professionals to discuss topics that included artificial intelligence in food production and innovations in cold chain logistics to support food security.
The MyFoodTech zone spotlighted breakthrough technologies spanning processing, logistics and packaging.
The Wine, Spirits & Beer Showcase, in partnership with Crafted, featured wine tastings and masterclasses for professionals and enthusiasts.

Meanwhile, the Halal Certification Workshop and Clinic provided a pathway for local and international F&B entities to better understand and navigate Malaysia’s halal certification process for market access in both domestic and international contexts.
MIFB 2025 also featured live culinary demonstrations by some of Malaysia’s most celebrated chefs, including Chef Ikhwan and the award-winning MalaysiaPCA National Culinary Team. Showcasing talent from top institutions and hotels, these chefs brought international flair, technical mastery and creative excellence to the event stage.
