The iconic Stadium Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur is ready to rock.

The track and football stadium will host Futureland Festival – a festival featuring live music performances, food and other street activities, scheduled to take place on Nov 23, 2024.

Organised by Warner Music Malaysia, the music festival will be conducted with health and beauty retailer Watsons Malaysia stepping onboard as title sponsor, as part of the celebrations of its 30th anniversary in the country.

Futureland Festival will feature both renowned and emerging talent, celebrating the future of Malaysian music by highlighting the creativity of local artists and providing them with a platform to shine and connect with fans.

The all-day extravaganza will showcase a stellar lineup of some of the hottest and most talented local musicians, groups and bands nationwide, including Hujan, Bunkface, Kugiran Masdo, Aina Abdul, Ayda Jebat, Syamel, Tuju, Zynakal, Fimie Don, Amsyar Lee, Rizal Rasid, Empty Page and Fugo.

The exciting announcement was made at a press conference graced by Communications Deputy Minister Teo Nie Ching on Oct 3 at Stadium Merdeka.

Stadium Merdeka holds a significant place in Malaysia’s history, serving as the site where the nation’s first Prime Minister declared independence. The iconic venue has hosted numerous global and regional superstars, making it a cornerstone of the Malaysian music landscape.

After undergoing a meticulous restoration process and upgrading of its amenities while retaining its historical charm in April 2019, Stadium Merdeka reopened its doors on August 17, 2024. With its rich heritage and revitalised infrastructure, the stadium promises to be the perfect backdrop for unforgettable live performances at the Futureland Festival.
