Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia 2023 elevates fans experience with new offerings.

Motorsport fans can get ready to see their favourite heroes competing at the 24th edition of the Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia 2023, set to take place at Sepang International Circuit (SIC) on Nov 10-12.

This edition of the Grand Prix themed #kasigegar will introduce the special ‘Tiket Rahmah’ opened to all Malaysians.

“The Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia is leading an initiative to make motorsports accessible to all Malaysians with the introduction of the ‘Tiket Rahmah’ for the K2 Hillstand priced at RM49.90,” SIC chief executive officer Azhan Shafriman Hanif said at a press conference attended by Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh, at The Bee, Publika, Kuala Lumpur on Sept 13, 2023.

Azhan said a total of 7,000 tickets are available without purchase limit.

“Apart from getting a panoramic view of the action, ‘Tiket Rahmah’ holders will also have access to lower priced food and beverage for an overall experience in-line with the objectives of the initiative,” he added.

Azhan said this year’s Grand Prix will also feature new pre-event and off-track activities such as the MotoGPTM Rider Fan Parade and MotoGPTM Hero Walk.

Syarifuddin Azman, 21, also known as Damok of the MT Helmets-MSi Team, will be racing in the Moto3TM class. Four other Malaysians, namely Farres Putra, Farish Hafiy, Ahmad Darwisy and Adi Putra will be pitting their skills in Round 5 of the Idemitsu Asian Talent Cup, a MotoGPTM support race.

Azhan said so far no local riders had been granted a wildcard entry in the Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia 2023 due to a limited budget.

“However, we may elect to include wildcard riders closer to the event if there are sponsors for them.”

Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh said her ministry sees motor racing as a platform for youth empowerment.

“The Ministry of Youth and Sports recognises the success of the Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia in strategically placing Malaysia on the map as a motorsports destination and the Government will continue to support the flagship event as well as Sepang International Circuit as the main promoter and host.

”Malaysia can solidify its position as the main motorsports hub in Southeast Asia by taking advantage of the platform to develop the next generation of champions and professionals in 2-wheel racing,” she added.

Three lucky people will have the opportunity to win limited-edition liveried Yamaha R25 motorcycles, each worth more than RM20,000 during the MotoGPTM Mega Lucky Draw contest.

The price for the various ticket categories are: RM640 (Premier Seat), RM510 (Premier Roving), RM425 (Marc Marquez Tribune), RM345 (Main Grandstand), RM206.25 (K1 Grandstand), RM143.75 (F Grandstand), RM93.75 (C2 Hillstand) and RM49.90 (Tiket Rahmah, K2 Hillstand).
