NTT DATA Payment Services has launched ADAPTIS, a suite of integrated payment solutions designed to meet the evolving needs of modern businesses at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral on April 30, 2025.

The launch marks a strategic milestone following NTT DATA Japan’s acquisition of GHL Systems Berhad and the company’s rebrand in November 2024, bringing together innovation, flexibility and regional expertise to shape the future of commerce in Southeast Asia.

The acquisition by NTT DATA Japan in 2024 made it a wholly owned subsidiary of one of the world’s top ten global IT service providers.

ADAPTIS features five key services, namely In-Store for seamless retail transactions; e-Commerce for secure online payments; Financing to support business growth; Enterprise for scalable payment infrastructure; and Value-Added Services to optimise client’s business operations.

Sean Hesh, the group chief executive officer and executive director of NTT DATA Payment Services, stated during the launch event: “ADAPTIS is our answer to the evolving demands of the digital economy. Having served Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines for decades, and with over 500,000 touchpoints across these countries, we understand what businesses need.”

Hesh added: “ADAPTIS is built to be flexible, localised, and future-ready, helping businesses scale efficiently while providing customers with seamless payment experiences.”

A key highlight of the event was a panel discussion centered on the theme: “Next in Commerce: From Competition to Collaboration.”

The event featured five panelists, including Shinichiro Nishikawa, head of global payments and services division from NTT DATA Japan; Enoch Chhabra, CEO (payment services & e-pay) from NTT DATA Payment Services; Yuichiro Sato, CEO (e-commerce solutions) from NTT DATA Payment Services; Jeremy Low, group head of operations from NTT DATA Payment Services and COO at Paysys (M) Sdn Bhd; and Sean Hesh.

The discussion explored how NTT DATA Payment Services has integrated formerly competing brands into a unified ecosystem, creating greater synergy and innovation in the global payments space.

Shinichiro Nishikawa, the head of global payments and services division at NTT DATA Japan, emphasised the strategic importance of this evolution, stating that, “the future of payments is not just about transactions, it’s about ecosystems. By bringing together Asian payments industry leaders under the NTT DATA Payment Services umbrella, we are building a more connected, intelligent, and resilient regional commerce infrastructure.

“ADAPTIS reflects our commitment to seamless integration, localised solutions, and large-scale innovation that empowers businesses worldwide.”

Following its debut in Malaysia, the ADAPTIS suite will roll out in Thailand and the Philippines later this year, further strengthening NTT DATA Payment Services’ commitment to delivering cutting-edge payment solutions across the region.
