Finalists revealed for Miss World Malaysia 2021 Beauty Festival

The Miss World Malaysia Organization (MWMO) has revealed 39 finalists who are looking forward to the chance to earn the title of Miss World Malaysia 2021, and to represent the country at the Miss World Final in Puerto Rico.

In a Facebook post announcement on Sept 26, Miss World Malaysia organization congratulated the 39 finalists whose names and their photos were revealed.

“Congratulations to all the 39 finalists of Miss World Malaysia 2021! We have overwhelming entries this year and finally, we have shortlisted these outstanding talented young women based on attributes of compassion, empathy, elegance and grace,” MWMO said in a Facebook post.  

The finalists were shortlisted after several rounds of auditions and virtual selections.

The 39 finalists revealed are: Adlyn Jayne, Angela Quah, Anya Kimberly, Buganna Saravana, Chantel, Chara, Charissa Chong, Giselle, Clera Pungi, Dr. Crystal Tung, Dabbie, Dana Koay, Dano, Dee, Susie, Haylynn Tan, Hema Raman, Jessica Gomez, Lavanya Sivaji, Leonara Harry, Shanny, Soluna, Felina Rouge, Malanika Sahathevan, Skye, Manjula Tamara, Menaka, Nancy Tor, Nandhini Sundaram, Narmatha, Natalie Ang, Natalie Grace, Nisha, Sanglisha, Shaline, Dr. Thanisha, Tharushiny Francis, Vanishaa Rameas and Vivy.

“The Miss World Malaysia Beauty With A Purpose mission empowers ladies to make a difference in our society and thus have attracted the most exceptional individuals to step up and take up this incredible challenge to be Miss World Malaysia 2021.

“That is probably why doctors, lawyers, performing artistes, influencers, beauty queens and entrepreneurs are joining us in our journey to create positive impact in our local and global communities,” it added.

The organization said that it will be hosting the Miss World Malaysia events virtually for the first time and fans can expect a unique immersive experience at an all new interactive online TV platform www.hyperlive.tv.

The platform’s virtual gifting features will offer fans to get up close and personal with their favourite beauty queens, watch them prepare behind the scenes, participate in their challenges and take part in voting.

Miss World Malaysia national director Sean Wong said the finalists will be live streaming from their homes to participate in the 2 October preliminary event where they will be competing in multiple fast track challenges. The winners of these challenges will advance to Top 10 of the competition. The finalists will be streaming live again during the Grand Final held on 16 October. 

Sean highlighted, “We are proud of these young ladies for having so much passion and dedication to create positive change in our society. Our mission focuses on empowering them to champion meaningful social causes in our community to help those in need. This is especially important during these difficult pandemic times, that we stand together in unity, support one another and spread the message of hope.

“We are honoured to be given the opportunity to collaborate with Sabah Tourism Board and Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents (SATTA) in this year’s edition of Miss World Malaysia. With the new interactive digital platform Hyperlive.tv as our streaming partner, we hope to promote Sabah as a tourist destination in a unique way and produce highly engaging tourism-related live variety shows hosted by our beauty queens.”

The winner of the competition will represent Malaysia to participate in the upcoming Miss World 2021 Final scheduled to take place in Puerto Rico on 16th December 2021.

TV host and actress Alexis SueAnn Alexis was crowned Miss World Malaysia 2019 at the Mega Star Arena on 6 October 2019.

The Miss World 2020 edition was cancelled by Miss World organization due to the pandemic.
