Bunga 2026 officially opens at Resorts World Awana with Asia’s finest orchid showcase

Bunga 2026, Malaysia’s highest flower exhibition, has officially opened at Awana Village, Resorts World Awana in Genting Highlands, transforming the venue into an international floral paradise of orchids, botanical artistry and nature-inspired experiences.

Running from June 3 to 7, 2026, the event brings together leading orchid societies, growers, hybridisers and collectors from across Asia in a vibrant showcase, highlighting the region’s massive botanical biodiversity.

Located at Awana Village, T2, the Bunga 2026 features over 30 vendors offering rare plant finds, tropical foliage, botanical decor and gardening inspirations.

The 5-day features Asia’s finest orchid displays, rare collector hybrids, immersive floral landscapes, interactive educational workshops, an artisan marketplace and rare hybrid competitions.

Speaking at the launch, Resorts World Genting (RWG) sales, marketing and public relations executive vice-president Spencer Lee said Bunga 2026 marks a key milestone in establishing Malaysia as a premier destination for botanical tourism, orchid appreciation and regional horticultural exchange.

“Bunga 2026 is more than a floral exhibition. It is a celebration of creativity, culture, conservation and the shared passion for orchids that connects communities across Asia.

“This vision reflects our continued commitment at Resorts World Genting to develop nature-led experiences that go beyond entertainment and contribute to more sustainable forms of tourism,” he said.

He added that Resorts World Genting has continued to expand its eco-tourism offerings through initiatives such as Eufloria Gardens & Sculpture Park and Genting Nature Adventures, which encourage visitors to engage more meaningfully with biodiversity, conservation and the natural environment.

The International Orchid Showcase displays rare finds and champion orchid blooms featuring international growers and experts from across Asia.

Bunga 2026 acts as the premier opening chapter of a floral series culminating in the 2026 Asia Pacific Orchid Conference (APOC), set to take place at Resorts World Genting from March 17 to 26, 2028 March 2028.

Thailand’s Chulee Orchid Team was named grand champion of the Orchid Landscape Competition and first-place winner in the 8m x 4m category.

At the heart of Bunga 2026 is an international orchid showcase and competition featuring expert orchid growers and societies from across Asia, including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brunei and Taiwan.

Among the exhibitors are the Taipei Orchid Society, Thailand’s Damrong Star Orchid Society and award-winning hybridizer Chulee Orchid, alongside Vietnam collector Nguyen Anh Tuan, Indonesia’s Orchid Community, and Malaysia’s Orchid Society of Selangor & Federal Territory and the Federation of Malaya Orchid Society.

Also participating are Singapore’s The Orchid Society of South East Asia (OSSEA), Brunei’s Jasmina Florist & Landscaping Co and Mr Home from Thailand, an internationally recognised horticultural figure with expertise in exotic plants and global trade.

The event also featured prize presentations for the International Orchid Competition, Orchid Landscape Competition, Individual Orchid Competition and Exotic Plants Competition, highlighting the region’s top horticultural excellence, creative botanical storytelling, and the dedication of passionate growers and hybridizers across Asia.

The botanical marketplace features over 30 botanical vendors selling rare finds, sustainable plants and unique collector hybrids.

In addition, Orchadia introduces a premium botanical lifestyle experience, combining botanical hospitality, orchid-inspired dining, interactive workshops and rare orchid auctions within a luxury greenhouse-inspired environment.

Guests can enjoy a botanical high-tea experience at Orchadia, surrounded by a lush orchid-filled environment, and participate in coffee and tea appreciation sessions.

Other highlights include orchid masterclasses, botanical high-tea sessions, coffee and tea appreciation experiences, chef-led farm-to-table conversations and guided eco-tours by Genting Nature Adventures in the cool highland climate.

Tickets to the floral festival are priced at RM30, while bundle admission to both Bunga 2026 and Eufloria Gardens is available at RM60. Senior citizens (60+ years) can enjoy a special walk-in rate of RM20. All entry tickets include RM10 worth of redeemable meal credits during the exhibition period.

For those who plan to stay the night, Resorts World Genting is offering bundled stay packages across various properties including Resorts World Awana, First World Hotel and Highlands Hotel (formerly Resort Hotel). Valid for stays from June 3 to 6, 2026, the specially curated Bunga Bloomscape staycation packages start as low as RM81 per night and include two entry tickets to the festival.
