Sports Toto brings Christmas cheer to 1,000 Orang Asli families in Pahang

Sports Toto brought Christmas cheer and happiness to 1,000 Orang Asli families in Pahang through its Helping Hands programme recently.

The company has collaborated with Strategic Education Methods and Ongoing Achievements Bhd. (SEMOA), a non-governmental-organization that helps to improve the living standard of the Orang Asli Christian community by contributing RM30,000 to kick start the donation campaign which comprises food provisions.

Sports Toto executive director Nerine Tan said, “As we are recovering from the pandemic, the underprivileged community need all the help and support more than anyone else.

“Our aim is to bring cheer to the underprivileged, thus we hope that the food provision will help to relieve some burden for the indigenous group.

“We would also like to thank SEMOA for their help in distributing the food provision to the beneficiaries starting on 18 December 2021,” said Sports Toto executive director Ms. Nerine Tan.”

Sports Toto has also distributed Christmas gifts to 500 Orang Asli children to ensure that they had a memorable Christmas.

The Helping Hands donation campaign is a corporate social responsibility initiative by Sports Toto in collaboration with SEMOA to celebrate Christmas with the Orang Asli community since 2013.

The programme also supports national sports development and other social sustainability projects such as festive donations, sports sponsorships, food bank project as well as environmental conservation campaigns.
