Malaysia’s award-winning, largest authentic Thai massage chain Thai Odyssey is excited to reopen safely adjusting to the “new normal” after a long closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Thai Odyssey managing director Din Tan said the business has put in place stringent safety measures ready to welcome back its loyal customers and new visitors and pamper them with attractive packages.
“All of Thai Odyssey front desk personnel and therapists are fully vaccinated, equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE) and required to undergo regular Covid-19 self-testing,” he said.
Tan said safe management measures are taken to safeguard the health and safety of workers and customers; and ensure compliance with the standard operating procedure (SOP) issued by relevant authorities.
“Only fully vaccinated guests with low-risk status on their MySejahtera app and temperature reading of 37.5 degrees Celsius and below are allowed entry. Face mask must be worn and social distancing must be observed at all times.
“All treatment rooms are sanitised before and after each use. Premises are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected every three hours.
“Guests who failed to observe the SOPs will be refused entry,” he said.
According to Tan, the Thai massage is an ancient therapy that has been practiced for over 2,500 years, and its various healing techniques are backed by scientific research.
“It can help lower stress, increase our energy level, relieve headaches and joint stiffness, reduces back pain, and stimulates blood circulation,” he said.
Tan pointed out that some 177 frontliners had enjoyed free massage offered by Thai Odyssey in appreciation of their sacrifices and dedication in the first year of pandemic.
He said Thai Odyssey had earlier this year sold its herbal pouches, herbal poultices (prakop) and massage vouchers in a charity drive in collaboration with Tropicana Corporation Berhad.
The range of massage services available at Thai Odyssey includes Traditional Thai Massage, Thai Aromatherapy Massage, Thai Herbal Therapy, Traditional Foot Massage, Half Body Massage, Body Scrub and the Ultimate Thai Odyssey.
Prices range from RM63 for a 30-minute Half Body Massage to RM748 for a 180-minute luxurious spa for couples. Attractive packages are currently available at RM1,000 for single, RM2,000 for couple and RM3,000 for family.
Tan explained, “Our range of massage services is excellent value for money. We have in-house trainers from Thailand to ensure the quality assurance of traditional Thai massage to be provided by our therapists who usually have between 5 and 10 years of experience.”
He said a new range of spa products for best overall spa experiences are in the midst of development and the first batch will be released in early 2022, with the rest to be gradually revealed in stages. A rebranding has been finalized in the middle of this year to better represent the brand with a cleaner, warmer and calmer mood.
Established in 2004, Thai Odyssey has grown from its first outlet in Centrepoint, Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya into a respectable brand with more than 40 outlets in the Klang Valley, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Penang and Sabah.
The Thai Odyssey Training Academy was formed in 2016 as an initiative to provide training programs to the locals in Sabah and it is accredited by Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Sabah with the objective of offering long-term careers to well-qualified local therapists.
Thai Odyssey has won numerous awards since 2006. Among them include CLEO Beauty STAR Awards: Best Massage for Knots and Kinks in 2015; The Malaysia Book of Records: Largest Thai Spa Operator in 2014; and Malaysia Spa & Wellness Awards: Best Family Spa in 2011.
Thai Odyssey is a member of both the Association of Malaysian Spas (AMSPA) and Malaysian Association of Wellness & Spa (MAWSpa), while the outlets are also rated by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
