The Malaysia Auto Xpo (MAX) 2026 is set to take place from November 7–8 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS).
The inaugural event will showcase automotive excellence, motorsport performance and industry innovation, while also serving as a dedicated platform to advocate for road safety and public awareness.
The flagship event is conceptualised and owned by Alaf Sentosa Sdn Bhd and organized by Element X Strategies – the people who brought Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur from 2023-2025.

Officially supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the new venture shifts the focus toward a broader, comprehensive lifestyle and automotive entertainment experience.
MAX 2026 is bringing together four components – the Xpo itself, International Auto Modified show (IAM), Tempatan Fest and Driftnutz – to create a unified platform for the region’s car culture, aftermarket industry, lifestyle and extreme sports communities
IAM, which is Southeast Asia’s leading and the world’s fastest-growing car tuning and automotive lifestyle show series, has been held in Malaysia since 2011. Today it is hosted in numerous cities across Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and the United States.
Tempatan Fest is one of the most prominent annual Malaysian cultural festivals which celebrates and showcases local streetwear trends, vintage collectibles, creative businesses, visual arts and independent music and bands.
First held in 2015, Driftnutz meanwhile, has hosted some of the most recognized fun drift events in Malaysia, bringing together international and local drifters.

Alaf Sentosa Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Jason Yap said MAX 2026 is envisioned to bring together diverse components of car culture, motorsports and lifestyle under a single massive showcase.
“We want this to not only become a powerful platform to give the business side of the industry a huge boost, but use its influence to champion a more responsible and safer automotive culture nationwide.
“MAX 2026 is a celebration of everything automotive and much more – from modified cars, tuners and custom car builders to motorsports elements, classic cars and the trading/selling of motor vehicles.
“This event gathers industry players, car enthusiasts and the community to experience an exciting automotive experience,” he said during a press conference announcing the expo at Carfe in Petaling Jaya on Oct 6, 2026.
Yap added that the inaugural edition will lay the foundation for a much grander future.
“It is also about giving back to the community, enthusiasts and the public,” he said.
MAX 2026 will showcase a large and diverse collection of customized cars featuring local and international tuners; an auto styling competition; exclusive unveilings by tuners; a dedicated hub for diecast hunters and collectors; sim racing competition; a car auction; auto trading; and the gathering of car clubs.
There will also be a dyno challenge to crown the Malaysia’s highest-horsepower car; drifting and taxi rides; an automotive race queens fashion show providing a platform for local Malaysian designers and fashion brands; the Miss Auto Culture Malaysia pageant; a batik car wrapping to showcase traditional Malaysian art in a modern, mechanical format; live stage performance; and a huge food fiesta.
One of the main highlights is the launch of an Exclusive Car Tour to Japan, which is a 9,000 km journey over 35 days from Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo, passing through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, China, South Korea, and finishing at the Liberty Walk headquarters in Tokyo.
The tour will be led by a custom, specially-built car that remains a secret until its official unveil at MAX 2026. It will be driven by MAX 2026 Ambassador Vera T. who is a renowned motorsport lifestyle creator and racing driver.
There will also be a few more hidden ‘easter eggs’ planned for the tour to keep fans guessing.
