Wang Dim Sum, specialising in authentic halal dim sum, has officially opened in Sunway Wangsawak Mall, Kuala Lumpur, marking an exciting new chapter for dim sum lovers in Malaysia.
Operated by DSF Culture Sdn Bhd, the new restaurant with the ‘Selera Tradisi Untuk Semua’ (A Taste Of Tradition For All) slogan had its grand opening on Dec 7, 2025, where about 80 guests enjoyed a specially curated dim sum brunch and witnessed the official unveiling of a vibrant wall art installation by local artist Lowkey.
Alden Lee, director of DSF Culture said, “Our hope is to make dim sum a truly universal experience for all Malaysians, served with heart, quality and cultural inclusivity.”

The ceremony began with a doa recitation by Ustaz Fahmi Bazlan Muda, seeking blessings for the restaurant’s success and continued prosperity.
This was followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony which was graced by a distinguished lineup of VIP guests, including RWC Holdings director Adrian Thean, Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association former chairman Haji Sharin Low, Masjid Al-Falah USJ 9, Subang Jaya Imam 3 Ustaz Fahmi Bazlan Muda and Sunway Wangsawalk Mall leasing manager Peter Siow.
The event concluded on a high note with an energetic muhibbah drum performance by 1Drum, symbolizing the unity and cultural harmony that Wang Dim Sum stands for.

Blending the atmosphere of a traditional Hong Kong dim sum house with the nostalgic charm of old Malaya, Wang Dim Sum introduces familiar favourites alongside local adaptations tailored to Malaysian tastes, with an extensive list of 20 dim sum options, including chicken siew mai, black pepper siew mai, syue kow (fried chicken dumpling), xiao long bao (mini soup dumpling), jumbo fish ball, twin phoenix claw and salted egg bean curd roll.
It has a lot of other varieties here too, including wok-fried dishes such as BBQ chicken fried rice, spicy seafood fried rice fried and radish cake, as well as chee cheong fun served with dim sum, with fillings like BBQ chicken, egg and prawn, in addition to tea and desserts.
To celebrate the grand opening of the restaurant, Wang Dim Sum is offering customers a limited-time promotion of 20% discount on all their menu items.
Wang Dim Sum culinary director Puan Sri Nisa Bakri said she will come up with some new signature dishes for the menu in the weeks ahead.
During the ceremony, she was recognized with two prestigious appointments. She is appointed advisor to the Halal Economic Council (Majlis Ekonomi Halal, MeH) and ambassador for Gastronomic Halal Malaysia.

All dim sum served at the restaurant is prepared using ingredients supplied by its own halal-certified factory, which also provides premium products to reputable HoReCa (Hotel, Restaurant and Cafe) partners across Malaysia.
The brand’s guiding message is proudly featured on its walls: “At Wang, we celebrate the spirit of community by sharing meals that bring together cultures and generations, united by a shared passion for good food and great company.”
