University of Cyberjaya recognised among Asia’s top 450 universities

University of Cyberjaya students embody the university’s diverse and dynamic community, a key strength behind its improved QS Asia ranking.

The University of Cyberjaya (UoC) located in Cyberjaya, Selangor, has earned a recognition among the top 450 universities in Asia in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026.

It secured #434 spot, up from last year’s #625 position, while maintaining its standing among the 48 Malaysian universities featured this year.

“UoC’s inclusion reaffirms its growing prominence as one of the nation’s leading private universities, distinguished by its strong foundation in health sciences,” said a press statement from UoC.

The 2026 edition evaluated 1,526 institutions across the region, underscoring the growing competitiveness of Asia’s higher education landscape.

UoC vice chancellor Prof Dr David Whitford said being recognised once again in the QS Asia University Rankings is a testament to the unwavering dedication of its academic community.

“Our performance in international indicators reflects the trust students and partners around the world place in us. We remain focused on strengthening our research ecosystem and delivering world-class graduates,” he said.

According to the statement, the QS Asia Rankings assess universities based on criteria such as academic and employer reputation, faculty qualifications, research impact, and international outlook, areas in which UoC continues to demonstrate strong performance.

“Building on this, the results reaffirm UoC’s ability to attract global talent and foster a vibrant, multicultural learning environment, supported by a well-balanced faculty-to-student ratio that enables a personalised educational experience,” it said.

“Furthermore, UoC’s achievement reinforces the university’s commitment to academic excellence and global competitiveness, particularly in the fields of health sciences, medicine and allied health education. Its growing reputation in these areas continues to position UoC as one of Malaysia’s most dynamic private higher education institutions,” added the statement.
