Nestle Malaysia has once again partnered with the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) and Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia (YFBM) to continue its societal commitment to support flood relief efforts ahead of the flood season.

As part of the nationwide flood aid relief initiative, the company has pre-packed and mobilised essential supplies to ensure that timely support is available, deployed and ready to assist up to 6,000 families in flood-prone areas when the need arises.

Nestle Malaysia has pre-packed flood relief packs containing Nestle products which are ready to support up to 6,000 families in flood-prone areas when the need arises.

This year over 200 Nestle employee volunteers joined hands with MRC members and student volunteers from Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) to pack 5,500 boxes of food aid, containing Nestle products for distribution to Temporary Relief Centres (PPS) and flood-affected families nationwide.

This includes essential Nestle products such as Milo, Maggi, Nestum, Nescafe, Everyday Milk, Nestle Omega Plus and Nestle Breakfast Cereals like Koko Krunch and Cornflakes.

Juan Aranols and Tengku Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, together with volunteers, joined efforts to support better flood preparedness.

In addition to its partnership with MRC, Nestle Malaysia has also expanded the collaboration with YFBM by contributing products for 480 families in remote islands and rural areas, including Orang Asli communities, fishing villages and rubber tapper families.

Through YFBM’s Susur Pulau 2025 and Kembara Tengkujuh 2025 programmes, essential foods and household items are delivered to families in these isolated areas, ensuring that they have their essential needs covered throughout the monsoon season.

Nestle Malaysia chief executive officer Juan Aranols said the company believes in supporting communities through its products as well as through its involvement to create a positive societal impact.

“The monsoon season is a difficult time for many families, specifically in the more flood exposed regions. Through our long-standing partnership with the Malaysian Red Crescent, we are able to deliver timely assistance to those affected.

“We are also scaling up our efforts together with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia to support the resiliency of communities and villages in remote and often isolated areas like the more remote East Coast islands,” he said.

MRC national chairperson Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz said the collaboration with Nestle Malaysia has grown from strength to strength, anchored by a shared mission to assist those affected by natural disasters.

“Nestle’s consistent support enhances our capacity to respond more effectively during floods, allowing us to extend critical aid to more communities nationwide,” she said.

YFBM Board of Trustees chairperson Tengku Datin Paduka Setia Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah said through its programmes such as Susur Pulau and Kembara Tengkujuh, Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia aims to ensure that vulnerable communities in remote and rural areas receive the necessary support during the monsoon season.

“Together with Nestle, we can amplify our impact. This is a tangible example of how public-private partnerships can bring about real benefits for the community,” she said.

The Nationwide Flood Aid Relief initiative is part of Nestle Sayang Komuniti, a platform which, in addition to mobilising the company’s resources, empowers employees to contribute directly to community and environmental causes.

Nestle Malaysia’s continued support to disaster relief through partnerships with both MRC and YFBM reflects its commitment to social responsibility and community support. Channelled through these partnerships, Nestle Malaysia’s total contribution of products in-kind and financial support is valued at approximately RM2.3 million. This support covers food provision, flood preparedness measures and recovery assistance for families and communities across the country.
