The National Aerospace Industry Corporation Malaysia (Naico Malaysia) celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of growth and innovation in Malaysia’s aerospace industry.
Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz officiated the event held at Menara Matrade, Kuala Lumpur on Sept 11, 2025.

In his speech, Tengku Zafrul explained that the two key government policies guiding the sector – the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030) and the Malaysia Aerospace Industry Blueprint 2030 (MAIB 2030) – have placed the country on track to achieve its aerospace ambitions.
He also listed significant new investments shaping Malaysia’s aerospace landscape in recent years. These include new investments and expansions by companies, including CTRM, China’s HS Aerosystems, NAFCO, Asia Digital Engineering (ADE), Singapore Airlines Engineering Company (SIAEC), Airfoil Services, Aircraft Propeller Service and GE Aerospace.
“The Asia-Pacific market itself is also brimming with opportunity. According to industry forecasts, our region will account for over 40% of global aircraft deliveries by 2040. The demand for greener, smarter, more resilient aviation is soaring and Malaysia must seize this moment,” he said.

Attendees were introduced to the MyAERO Centre, now fully operational at Naico Malaysia’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, following its soft launch in May 2024.
Designed to support industry and professional development, the centre offers:
- A CNC training simulator for hands-on advanced machining practice
- A 3D printer capable of printing with carbon fibre materials
- 3D surface scanners and portable measurement arms for reverse engineering, put in place for SME use
- Access to design software for both training and leasing (for the industry) purposes
- A 3D visualisation lab equipped with virtual reality (VR) for immersive design and simulation
- A technology playground featuring robotics and automated guided vehicles (AGVs)

By providing access to these advanced technologies and tools, the MyAERO Centre helps upskill Malaysia’s aerospace workforce, enhances SME capabilities and accelerates technology adoption across the value chain. It serves as both a practical training ground and a collaboration space, bridging gaps between talent, technology and industry needs.

Malaysia’s aerospace industry has grown significantly which recorded RM25.1 billion in revenue in 2024, was the highest in the past ten years and supported by 30,000 skilled workers. This year the aerospace industry revenue is projected to reach RM30 billion.

Over the years, Naico Malaysia has spearheaded several initiatives to strengthen the sector. Apart from the MyAERO Centre, Naico Malaysia is progressing on its hub for talent development, supply chain integration, and innovation; including the Iltizam Usaha Insan programme to future-proof skills; and industrial localisation programmes that embed local players more deeply into global value chains.
“Malaysia’s aerospace ecosystem is steadily strengthening, from rising local content and global engineering recognition to becoming the preferred regional hub for parts and components,” said Naico Malaysia CEO Prof Ts. Shamsul Kamar Abu Samah.
Looking ahead, Naico Malaysia is preparing to roll out an expanded set of initiatives throughout 2026, building on the foundation of the past decade. These efforts will culminate in the MyAERO Summit 2026, scheduled taking place from June 25-27, 2026 at MAEPS, Serdang.
