Downy Malaysia and Mydin celebrate National Month with new packaging and big rewards

In celebration of Malaysia’s National Month, Downy Malaysia partnered with Mydin to unveil its new packaging, specially created for the Malaysian market.

The refreshed design features Bahasa Malaysia as the local language, marking Downy’s long-standing presence in the country and the brand’s deep connection with Malaysian households.

The new packaging adds a fresh local touch to five of Downy’s popular variants – Mystique, Passion, Sunrise Fresh, French Lavender and Blissful Blossom –  giving shoppers a familiar yet refreshed experience each time they reach for their favourite fabric softener.

The ‘Downy Wangi Berjiwa’ launch took place at Mydin Subang Jaya Hypermarket on August 27, 2025, attended by Mydin managing director Datuk Wira Dr Ameer Ali Mydin, executive director Datin Wira Dr Siti Hawa Mohd, along with PCG Malaysia and Singapore’s country manager Nantha Kalimuthu.

“Launching ‘Downy Wangi Berjiwa’ at Mydin during Malaysia’s National Month is especially meaningful. This collaboration celebrates our culture and identity while giving Malaysians products that truly reflect who we are.

The event also marks the start of an exciting “Buy & Win” contest running until September 30, 2025 with a minimum spend of RM35 to win a Toshiba washing machine with 10 KG capacity worth more than RM1,600.

Nantha Kalimuthu said Malaysians have embraced Downy as part of their laundry routine for over two decades.

“This new packaging is more than just a design change – it’s a reflection of our shared journey with Malaysian families.
