The 14th edition of Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2025 featured 311 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions, showcasing the latest technologies, products and services in the automotive supply chain.
This year’s show from May 15-17 highlighted an expanded showcase that covered over 12,500 square meters across six exhibition halls at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, reflecting rising demand and interest in Malaysia’s automotive sector.
Officiated by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (Miti) senior director of industrial development division Faizal Mohd Yusof, the three-day exhibition aimed to leverage Malaysia’s 2025 ASEAN Chairmanship and reflect the country’s expanding role in regional automotive advancement.

“Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2025 showcases Malaysia’s leadership in driving a sustainable automotive industry,” remarked Faizal. “By connecting local companies with global leaders, we’re fostering economic growth and a smarter, greener future for ASEAN.”
A broad array of vehicles, from Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) models to classic and audio-modified cars, are on display, bridging the business-to-business and consumer segments.
Leading brands such as Alienworld, Areon, Emerald, EV Connection, Kineta, Hans Tools, King Hup Motors and Rimbunan Kuasa, Launch, OBD, Schmaco, TecAlliance, Vanli, and YonMing Group were featured across the fairground, signalling a maturing domestic industry alongside international participation.
Hands-on learning also took centre stage with the Collision Repair Training Workshop focusing on both internal combustion engines (ICE) and new energy vehicles (NEV). Topics included electric vehicle (EV) safety, high-voltage repair and maintenance, in addition to live spray-painting demonstrations for body and paint.
The event’s opening day also witnessed policy alignment and industry dialogues, particularly around sustainability and regional competitiveness in the automotive sector. These themes were explored in depth at the Automotive Mobility Solutions Conference, where panel discussions focused on energy transition, electrification and digitalisation; key areas, shaping the future of mobility across ASEAN.
The panels emphasised the need for businesses to adapt to a shifting landscape shaped by climate commitments and technological change.
Sustainability, they noted, is not only about environmental impact but also long-term economic viability particularly as the region prepares for wider EV adoption and smarter transport systems.
“Automechanika Kuala Lumpur is a well-established trade fair in the Malaysian automotive industry with more than 20 years serving the market. Our aim is to highlight the country’s strengths in the supply chain and create a gateway to connect domestic and overseas markets,” said organiser Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd general manager Fiona Chiew.
The strong participation at the 2025 edition of Automechanika Kuala Lumpur reflects growing international interest in Malaysia’s automotive sector. For local companies, the event provides valuable exposure to global technologies and evolving industry standards, while also opening doors for potential partnerships.
With Malaysia currently holding the ASEAN chairmanship, the exhibition highlighted the country’s increasing involvement in regional automotive development. For many in the industry, the trade fair offered a timely view of where the sector is headed and the shifts needed to stay aligned with global trends.
