Milo, the beloved chocolate malt beverage produced by Nestle, reinforced its long-standing dedication to the nation’s sporting landscape with the signing of a sponsorship agreement with the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) at The Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on May 29.
The signing ceremony for the sponsorship agreement was attended by OCM secretary general Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin and Milo business executive officer Ng Su Yen, and witnessed by Juan Aranols and OCM deputy president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin, in the presence of many famous Malaysian Olympian athletes, including Annie Choong, Tan Sri Dr. M. Jegathesan, Datuk Soh Chin Aun, Nurul Huda Abdullah, Datuk Rashid Sidek, Ng Shu Wai and Dato Pandelela Rinong.
The sponsorship agreement will see the partnership continue until 2028, with Milo providing financial support and in-kind contributions for the Malaysian contingent to compete in the Olympic Games 2024 and the Paralympic Games 2024, amongst others.
“As part of Nestle’s aim of encouraging healthier lifestyles among Malaysians for the past seven decades, MILO has been dedicated to shaping the future of sports in the nation.
“Reflecting this, our partnership with OCM has flourished since it began in the 1950’s, where the Malayan Contingent made its historic debut at the 16th Olympic Games, and throughout the years MILO and OCM have continued to join hands to develop and nurture our country’s sporting values and talent,” said Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd chief executive officer Juan Aranols.
He added, “Through our continued collaboration with OCM alongside our grassroots sports programmes, we remain committed to inspiring the next generation of world-class Malaysian athletes.”
Datuk Hamidin said Milo has been OCM’s longest-standing partner since 1956, and has played an instrumental role in creating opportunities for Malaysian athletes to hone their talents and represent Malaysia on the regional and global stage.
“We are pleased to renew once again our fruitful collaboration with Milo to continue supporting our talented Malaysian contingents,” he added.
