Content creator and model Angela Looi from Perak is really excited that she has been blessed again as the winner of Miss CosmoWorld Malaysia 2022.
She beat 17 other hopefuls to the title at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on Nov 15.
It is the second victory for the 24-year-old beauty queen. She was first crowned Goddess of Nature Malaysia on Sept 16 this year.
“I’m really grateful and honoured. It was beyond my expectation as every contestant gave their best, but I knew I had tried my best,” she said.
When asked about the secret to her success in winning pageants, the beauty queen said, “For me, I think my being friendly, sincere, always smiling, enjoy being on stage and having a positive mindset is very important.”
Looi who also won the Miss Perfect Skin subsidiary title, received cash and prizes worth RM259,474 for her victory.
She will be representing Malaysia at the Miss CosmoWorld 2022 international final at St Regis Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on Nov 30, 2022.
Looi was thankful to her family members and friends for their unwavering support during the entire competition.
“First of all, I want to say thank you to my family members and friends. They are super supportive and always will be my strongest backing. Also, I would like to encourage more girls to be brave to pursue their dreams. There’s no take two in life, don’t let dream be your regret.”
Standing 167cm (5’ 6”) tall, Looi is looking forward to the Miss CosmoWorld International final with the most positive attitude and the most passionate excitement.
“I will be representing Malaysia, and I hope to make Malaysia proud. I also hope that other contestants can have a great time with me and love the diverse cultures of Malaysia.
Looi hopes to achieve her childhood ambition to become a well-known commercial model one day.
She enjoys hobbies such travelling and exploring to new things. “I’m not a person who will limit myself, once it attracts my attention I will definitely try it out.”
Rachel Tee Hui Xin, 22, a public relations strategist from Malacca and Natalie Ang Ai Dee, 23, a UCSI biochemistry undergraduate from Penang won first and second runners-up, respectively.
Tee and Ang received prizes worth RM147,731 and RM100,196 respectively.
A total of six subsidiary titles were awarded.
Miss CosmoWorld founder and organizer Carrie Lee said the pageant seeks to promote the independence of women with beauty, confidence, great health and mentality that shine from within.
