
Coca-Cola Malaysia celebrates Hari Gawai in Kampung Annah Rais, Sarawak by uplifting the local Bidayuh community and empowering residents to share their culture.
The brand supports both the preparation and festive phases of the holiday, hosting immersive cultural and retail activations alongside community gatherings
Celebrating Hari Gawai at the over-100-year-old Annah Rais Longhouse in Padawan provides an authentic immersion into Bidayuh culture.
On June 1 and 2, 2026, the longhouse opens its doors to the public for a true harvest festival celebration, bringing the indigenous Dayak communities together to celebrate unity, prosperity and shared heritage.
Visitors are invited not just to watch from the sidelines but to experience Ngabang (traditional open-house visits) and the spirit of Gawai firsthand in the indigenous heritage of Borneo.

Supported by Coca‑Cola Malaysia, the community‑led celebration shines a light on the people, processes and shared participation that give Gawai its meaning.
The spirit of gotong royong weaves through every aspect of the Gawai celebrations at the Bidayuh longhouse – from weaving costumes and preparing food, to music, dance and rituals ensuring age-old customs and mutual support are continuously passed down to younger generations.
Ketua Kaum Annah Rais, Joda Mamung said Gawai is deeply rooted in gratitude and togetherness.
“It is not something we simply watch – it is something we build together. This year, we are opening our doors wider to welcome others to experience how Gawai is made, and to celebrate alongside us,” he said.
This year’s Gawai in Kampung Annah Rais is shaped by shared effort and participation, with Coca‑Cola supporting the community behind the scenes by providing refreshing beverages and creating welcoming spaces for connection, work and celebration.
The brand champions the Gawai spirit by celebrating the heartfelt preparations, shared traditional meals and open house gatherings that preserved local heritage.
Coca‑Cola Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei public affairs, communications and sustainability director Khairul Anwarsaid that Gawai beautifully reflects how shared moments bring people closer through culture and tradition.

The festival features the longest Coca-Cola mural convoy to Gawai Festival in partnership with Grab, brand activations by Coca-Cola, laser light show, cultural performances, community bazaarand a traditional Dayung Sangun beauty pageant.
The Coca-Cola’s Coketales AR activation offers an interactive journey into the heritage of the Gawai festival.
For Coca-Cola enthusiasts, the celebration will also feature exclusive collectables and specially crafted beverages alongside product sampling and exclusive Gawai merchandise. Limited-edition FIFA World Cup 2026 cans from the Coca-Cola beverage portfolio will also be available.
