Perfect Italiano recently introduced three new cheese products: Perfect Pizza, Perfect Bakes and Mexican Style that will bring “gusto perfetto” (perfect taste) to the everyday Malaysian dishes with a touch of Italian flair.

The new range of culinary cheeses is made to complement pizzas, pastas or tacos, and they come readily pre-shredded, ready-to-be-used whenever desire.

Featuring a new packaging size of 150g, the smaller portion is just the right size for a single meal.

For Malaysians who are known for their love for food especially creamy and savoury ones, cheese is becoming one of the most commonly used ingredients in cooking. Not only does it enhance the flavour of dishes, it also adds nutritional value due to its high protein and calcium content.

Fonterra Brands Malaysia marketing director Irene Cheah said that the current Perfect Italiano assortment has received very positive responses, particularly in the last two years.

“In support of Fonterra’s aim to bring quality dairy products to more Malaysian homes, we have decided to expand the range offerings with these 150g packs, which are specifically designed for smaller households.

“Families can now enjoy different types of cheese in various dishes on a more regular basis. As Malaysians enjoy sharing meals together and trying new recipes at home – these new Perfect Italiano cheese blend variants help home cooks add different flavours to their cooking, instantly elevating the overall taste and experience of food,” she said.

Try these three simple recipes using Perfect Italiano Perfect Pizza cheese, Perfect Italiano Perfect Bakes cheese and Perfect Italiano Mexican Style cheese to make rich and filling meals.

Cheesy Roti Canai Sarang Burung Pizza

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves: 4 pax

Ingredients:
1 packet          Perfect Italiano Perfect Pizza Cheese (150g)
4 pcs               Frozen roti canai
4 nos               Half-boiled egg

For meat filling:
100g                Red onions, finely minced
6 pcs               Beef burger patty, coarsely diced
6 tbsp              Hot sweet soy sauce
1 tbsp              Cooking oil

For garnishing:
Chopped coriander leaves

Method:

  1. Heat up oil in a frying pan and sauté onions until fragrant. Add in beef burger patty and pan fry until fully cooked. Then, add in hot sweet soy sauce and mix well. Set aside.
  2. Place frozen roti canai on a lightly greased baking tray. Spread meat mixture over the roti canai and top it with generous amount of Perfect Italiano Perfect Pizza Cheese. Bake in preheated oven at 180˚C for 10 minutes or until golden brown. 
  3. Remove and place on a serving dish. Lastly, place the half-boiled egg on top and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve immediately.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Serves: 6-8 pax

Ingredients:
1 packet          Perfect Italiano Perfect Bakes Cheese (150g)
1 kg                 Potato, peeled off skin and sliced into ½ inch round
4 tbsp              Cooking oil
1.5kg               Minced chicken
200g                Rendang paste
80g                  Kerisik
6 pcs               Kaffir lime leaf, thinly sliced
2 pcs               Turmeric leaf, thinly sliced
½ cup              Water
1 cup               Coconut milk

Method:

  1. Steam potatoes for 3-4 minutes and set aside.
  2. Heat up oil in frying pan and sauté minced chicken until lightly browned. Add in rendang paste, kerisik, kaffir lime leaf and turmeric leaf. Mix well. Pour in water and coconut milk. Mix well and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Transfer chicken mixture into a casserole and arrange potato slices on top. Sprinkle generous amount of Perfect Italiano Perfect Bakes Cheese. Bake in preheat oven at 180˚C for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately.

Cheesy Ikan Bilis and Tempe Taco Bowl

Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4-5 pax

Ingredients:

1 packet          Perfect Italiano Mexican Style Cheese (150g)
60g              Dried anchovies (ikan bilis), deep fried
1 pkt (250g)     Crispy tempe, deep fried
120g            Peanuts, roasted
80g                  Nacho chips
2 nos               Tomatoes, deseeded and diced
200g                Corn kernels
¼ no                Green capsicum
1 no                 Lime

For spicy sauce:
100g            Garlic, minced
75                 Shallot, minced
12 tbsp         Cooking oil
135g             Chili paste (cili giling)
200g             Sugar
1¼ tsp          Salt or to taste
2¼ tsp           Soy sauce or to taste
6 pcs           Kaffir lime leaves, thinly sliced

Method:

  1. For spicy sauce, mix all ingredients until well combined. Set aside.
  2. Place anchovies, tempe and peanuts in a mixing bowl. Pour in spicy sauce and toss well. Set aside.
  3. Arrange nacho chips in an ovenproof bowl, place the anchovy’s mixture in center and top with tomatoes, corn kernels and green capsicums. Lastly, sprinkle generous amount of Perfect Italiano Mexican Style Cheese on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Squeeze some lime juice on top and serve immediately.
