Tractors Malaysia collaborates with customers to raise RM80K for Women’s Aid Organisation

Tractors Malaysia, the exclusive Caterpillar dealership under Sime Darby Industrial Sdn Bhd (SDISB), recently collaborated with its four key customers to donate RM80,000 to the Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO).

The customers are Nestcon Infra Sdn Bhd, Landhon Builders Sdn Bhd, Seri Pajam Development Sdn Bhd and Pembinaan Tetap Teguh Sdn Bhd.

The amount was raised through the rental of a Caterpillar 323GX hydraulic excavator.

In a statement, the company said the joint effort furthers its commitment towards supporting initiatives that promote gender equality and women empowerment.

“The funds will aid WAO in its mission to provide support, and shelter to women and children affected by domestic violence and to advocate for women’s rights in Malaysia,” said Liew Thiam Huat, the managing director, Industrial Southeast Asia of Sime Darby Industrial Sdn Bhd at the handover ceremony.

The companies were represented by Nestcon Infra director Ir Dr Lim Jee Gin, Landhon Builders director Yap Kian Hong, Seri Pajam Development director Ten Fui Jean and Pembinaan Tetap Teguh group corporate executive director Datin Angie Ng.

Also present at the event were Caterpillar Inc sales director Chen Binling and WAO partnership director Amnani Abdul Kadir.

“At SDISB, we recognise the importance of fostering an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of gender, has equal opportunities to thrive while at work.

“The recent International Women’s Day celebration serves as a reminder of the work to be done in achieving gender equality in our society, and that SDISB is proud to support organisations like WAO that champion such causes,” added Liew.
