Hitman Group celebrated its 15-year anniversary in the event management services business with a headline show at the Surf Beach of Sunway Lagoon, Bandar Sunway in Subang Jaya on March 2, 2024.
The ‘Underground’ concert brought together three indie rock legends for the first time: Butterfingers, Hujan and Bunkface sharing the same stage.
About 6,000 fans turned up to have a rocking good time as the three bands shared the stage together performing their greatest hits.
Rohit Rampal, the founder and CEO of Hitman Solutions, a subsidiary of Hitman Group, said, “We chose the ‘Underground’ showcase to commemorate our 15th anniversary celebration as a tribute to the journey of our business and putting decades of hard work into it, which parallels the experiences of the bands involved.
“It’s a fitting combination, a celebration of successful indie artists and business ventures that were built from the ground up, and also providing a platform for newer independent vendors.”
The concert kicked-off at 8pm and lasted for about three hours. Butterfingers, Hujan and Bunkface kicked off the show performing together on the same stage. The show then blasted off with each band performing for a duration of 45 minutes.
Butterfingers, which consists of Loque, Emmett, Loko and Kadax performed a number of their nostalgic songs such as Taman Tasik Perdana, Tentang Tentang and Garden City Of Lights.
Next, Hujan, which consists of Noh Salleh, AG Coco, Azham and Izzat, entertained to a legion of eager fans with their chart-topping hits such as Lonely Soldier Boy, Kotak Hati and Mencari Konklusi.
Punk rock band Bunkface which came into the music scene in 2005 brought the house down with their hits such as Darah Muda, Ekstravaganza, Revolusi and also some of their new releases.
Rohit added, “What’s special on this night, we’ve combined the Underground showcase together with our 15th anniversary which encompasses all of our services, from event management and production to showcase promotion, AV technical expertise, marketing and also design, incorporating all of our skills to deliver the best of the best for this occasion.
“Honestly, I’m just overflowing with gratitude and pride for everyone who’s been part of this incredible journey, from my amazing friends and family to the unstoppable dedication of my team.”
Rohit said he used to dabble in small events as a teenager, evolving from being an event design company to venturing into event production and investing in more equipment.
“Today, we’ve grown to offer a complete 360 event solutions package. It’s truly heartening to see how far we’ve come, and it reaffirms my belief that with the right attitude and the right people by your side, anything is possible.”
When asked what is in store for music fans in Malaysia and around the region, Rohit said, “If you’d asked me this question 15 years ago, I wouldn’t have dreamt of the incredible journey we’re on today. But here we are, and wherever we head next, one thing’s for sure, it’s going to be even bigger, more spectacular, and with a broader range of industries and event scales.
