Coca-Cola Malaysia Back2School program helps kids get ready for school year

The Back2School program highlights Coca-Cola’s commitment to community empowerment under Coca-Cola Malaysia’s Acts of Kindness program.

Over 200 underprivileged children were given the opportunity to purchase school items such as uniforms, schoolbags and shoes for the new school year in Back2School Program 2024.

The corporate social responsibility initiative by Coca-Cola Malaysia, in collaboration with Empire Project and supported by Aeon BiG to lighten the burden of underprivileged families for the new school year in March, was launched at Aeon BiG Wangsa Maju, on Feb 25.

The launch event included a lion dance performance held in conjunction with Chinese New Year.

Khairul Anwar Ab. Gahani, the director of public affairs, communications and sustainability, Coca-Cola Bottlers Malaysia-Singapore-Brunei stated during the launch event: “The Back2School program reflects Coca-Cola Bottlers Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. We believe every child deserves access to education with the tools necessary to succeed.

“With this program, we hope to ease the financial burden faced by underprivileged families in helping their children to get ready for school. This would hopefully help to empower the children with the resources they need to thrive academically.”

With a target to aid over 4,000 children from underprivileged communities across Malaysia in 2024, Coca-Cola Bottlers Malaysia is providing over RM500,000 via the Back2School program.

Coca-Cola Bottlers Malaysia has set a target to aid over 4,000 children from underprivileged communities across Malaysia in 2024, providing over RM500,000 via the Back2School program.

The commitment includes the provision of Aeon BiG gift cards alongside the distribution of essential school supplies such as schoolbags, school uniforms, and stationery across underprivileged communities nationwide.

“We are committed to fostering innovation and collaboration in our efforts to support the community. By partnering with NGOs and government bodies across Malaysia, we aim to extend our reach and make a meaningful difference in the lives of even more individuals,” added Khairul.

The Back2School program is a part of Coca-Cola Malaysia’s Acts of Kindness program, an initiative aimed at creating a lasting and positive impact within local communities. Under this program, Coca-Cola Bottlers Malaysia works with key stakeholders and partners through community engagement initiatives, including the distribution of food aid, as well as flood relief efforts in collaboration with local communities along the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
