Ara Damansara Medical Centre (ADMC) in Shah Alam, has rebranded its rehabilitation centre as the one-stop Rehabcentric, providing comprehensive rehab services aimed at helping patients regain quality of life with timely and efficient care.

In celebration of the enhanced facility on Nov 26, 2022, the hospital organised a fitness-themed event called Rehabcentric FitFest which featured several fitness activities for community participation.

The highlight of the event was the Rehabcentric Challenge, which entailed three customized challenges for wheelchair-bound participants and five challenges for others.

The three winners in the men, women, and wheelchair-bound categories of the Rehabcentric Challenge each took home RM500 cash vouchers.

Other activities, in partnership with health and wellness club Babel Fit, included dance, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and yoga sessions.

ADMC chief executive officer Miranda Harumal presented RM500 cash vouchers to the winner of the wheelchair-bound category of the Rehabcentric Challenge.

Local sports personalities who turned up to show support at the event included national paralympic athlete Harman Halion and Malaysian hockey team players who won 6th place at the recent 2022 Masters Hockey World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa.

“Rehabilitation can be a key component in the post injury recovery period, and we are among the first few private hospitals in the country to provide a one-stop, holistic range of services that can be customized to suit each patient’s requirements with the goal of restoring optimal health,” said ADMC chief executive officer Miranda Harumal.

She said with modern rehab technologies being deployed, ADMC is focused on raising the standards for rehabilitative care in the region.

“We are also honoured to be able to host several Malaysian sports personalities at our event today and are grateful for their support in celebrating our enhanced facility.

“Rehabilitation plays an important role in managing the health-related risks of competing athletes, while striking the right ethical and operational balance between health management and performance optimization,” added Miranda.

Previously named Rehabilitation Services, the rebranded Rehabcentric by ADMC provides inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services to help patients recover their strength, skills and independence to return home and resume their normal lives.

Coupled with a well-equipped gym, the team of therapists aims to support patients every step of the way to regain their functionality.
