foodpanda Malaysia and Ryt Bank have partnered to simplify group meals and shared expenses by combining foodpanda food delivery with Ryt Bank digital banking capabilities.

The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on Sept 7, 2026, covering payments, customer rewards, merchant engagement, delivery partner financial literacy programmes and other digital initiatives.

A foodpanda poll found that 38% of users struggle with deciding what to eat, and 29% struggle with chasing friends or colleagues for payment after a group meal. Other frustrations included someone changing their order (17%) and waiting for everyone to reply (16%).

The partnership responds to common pain points around group meals, where deciding what to order and chasing payments can make a simple meal more complicated.

Together, the two platforms aim to make the experience more seamless, from choosing what to eat to settling the bill.

foodpanda Group Order allows everyone to add their own choices to one shared order, making it easier to coordinate what everyone wants, while Ryt Groups complements the experience by helping users manage and settle shared expenses.

“At foodpanda, we are always looking for ways to make experiences simpler and more rewarding for our customers. Group meals are an important part of how Malaysians come together, and making that experience better means looking at the entire journey, not just the order itself.

“This partnership with Ryt Bank reflects our commitment to delivering the best experience by making everyday moments more seamless and convenient for our customers,” said foodpanda Malaysia managing director Kenneth Soh.

For Ryt Bank, the partnership represents a strategic approach to expand its digital banking presence in Malaysia by integrating into existing consumer ecosystems.

“Banking is increasingly part of the everyday experiences that happen around us, from paying for a meal to managing shared expenses.

“Through this partnership, we can explore how Ryt Bank’s digital banking capabilities can work alongside foodpanda’s ecosystem to make these everyday interactions simpler and more rewarding.

“What we are announcing today is not just about one feature or one campaign, but the opportunity to build more meaningful digital experiences for Malaysians together,” said Ryt Bank interim chief executive officer Wilson Soon.

Eligible Ryt Bank customers who complete a qualifying Ryt Groups settlement can unlock up to an RM15 foodpanda voucher via the Ryt Bank App until Oct 21, 2026.
