Thrilling showcase of talent in K-pop dance contest

PETALING JAYA – eCurve mall organised a K-Pop talent show as part of Kolours of Korea Festival 2019

Girl group Donnas setting the stage on fire with their intricate and synchronised dance routine to emerge champions of K-Heat KPop Talent Show 2019.

Known for their tear-jerking dramas, pop bands and affinity towards spicy cuisine, Korean culture has been taking Malaysia by storm.

Riding on the Korean wave, eCurve mall organised a K-Pop talent show as part of Kolours of Korea Festival 2019, held during the school holidays from from August 9 to 18, 2019.

Gina Long Ahmad, acting centre manager, leasing and advertising & promotions commented, “For budding superstars, our K-Heat Kpop Talent Show 2019 was the ideal opportunity to express their creativity and to develop essential skills such as team work, and above all, it was a great way to have fun and meet new people.”

The champions girl group Donnas outshone other teams with their energetic movements and superior choreography. They took home the grand prize of RM2,000
K-Heat KPop Talent Show first runner-up Eclat took home a total prize of RM1,000.   
K-Heat KPop Talent Show second runner-up DPNW walked away with prizes totalling RM600. 

The K-Heat Kpop Talent Show 2019 showcased both K-Dance competition and K-Sing competition. Judging the K-Dance competition were Choi Ssaem, Sachie Amira (singer, songwriter and a member of TigaSoul), Iylia Anis (leader of Kueendom) and special celebrity judge Mix (leader of Brute) and winner of Kpop International Dance Cover Competition.

A total of 32 teams competed against each other and competition was tough as contestants were judged not only on synchronisation but also the authenticity of the dance moves and use of creativity in the performance.

For the K-Sing portion of the competition, a total of 36 participants battled against each other. The contestants were judged on various criteria including singing ability, personality and pronunciation by Choi Ssaem, Amira and Iylia Anis.

The Kolours of Korea Festival 2019 offered an array of showcases featuring various Korean-themed challenges, Korean merchandise, food and performances to satisfy one’s Korean cravings.
