Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) and Ara Damansara Medical Centre (ADMC) have received international gold standard accreditations from global healthcare accreditation leader Joint Commission International (JCI).

In a statement, Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care (RSDH) said Subang Jaya Medical Centre and Ara Damansara Medical Centre, two hospitals under its group, have successfully passed the assessment for excellence in patient care by JCI for the second time.

“The Gold Seal of Approval from JCI enables SJMC and ADMC to join the ranks of a select group of 994 hospitals in the global private healthcare sector and 17 in Malaysia committed to raising the bar in upholding high standards in patient care and safety, while continuously striving for innovation and advancements in disease and hospital management,” said the statement.

“The achievement by our hospitals is no small feat given the complexities of being assessed by JCI, a leading independent authority in healthcare assessment that ensures quality of care remains a key priority for healthcare providers across the globe. I cannot be prouder of this accolade and am certain our hospitals will continue to excel in how they deliver their best to the communities they serve,” said RSDH Group chief executive officer Peter Hong, according to the statement.

JCI evaluated the hospitals using stringent criteria to objectively determine how each facility ranks in a variety of areas ranging from medical expertise, facilities management, staff qualifications, organizational governance and efforts to improve safety and quality of services.

SJMC chief executive officer Bryan Lin said the accreditation by JCI for the second time is a testament to the commitment and dedication of the staff who constantly strive to put their patients first.

“In SJMC, we continuously uphold our trusted reputation so that when patients come to us, they feel safe, well supported in their health needs, and expect nothing less than excellent clinical outcomes,” he said.

Meanwhile, ADMC chief executive officer Miranda Harumal said the hospital has always practice the culture of safety, compassion and quality care.

“Our goal is to provide care that reflects integrity, with sound leadership attributes and dedicated healthcare professionals who are consistently committed to embracing the evolving needs of patients as our priority. Credit goes to the tireless efforts and continuous dedication of all our doctors and staff at ADMC,” she said.

The statement added that two other Ramsay Sime Darby hospitals in Indonesia, RS Premier Jatinegara and RS Premier Surabaya also acquired their JCI accreditation in October 2022.
